Caught Some Bait Today
I'm not going sharking, I don't enjoy 2 hour fights with 250# beast anymore, I'm sticking with the what I do. Definition, green fish = a fish not ready to be landed. brown fish = ready to net or gaff, some actually turn brown from the fight.

Do You Give Up On Lures
One of the best posts I have ever read. I don't get caught up the technical aspects of fishing, lures, rods, reels, lines and hooks don't mean much to me, only the fish matters. I use maybe no more than 6 different kinds of lures. Spoons, flukes, bucktails, hard jerkbait, some kind of a spinner (bait or inline) and a plastic worm which seldom gets used. They all catch bass and I use them in saltwater too. I may not own more than 6 or 7 hardbaits, keep using the same ones, lose one and I only replaced what I lost.

1 Lure You Have No Confidence In...
There is a difference between lack of confidence and desire to use a particular bait. Given enough time I'm going to catch fish on a bare paper clip, the lack of fish on a certain lure isn't my concern. Nothing I like better than open water fishing, senkos and jigs do not not excite me, but they do catch fish. If I'm fishing open water I'm going to use something that may not produce as well but it's more fun for me.

Done With Bass Pro Shop
Sounds more like a vacation package than a timeshare, appears to be an excellent price. Typically timeshares are purchased for a week per year, the trend of some of the companies is a point system now rather than the week format. There's an upfront cash outlay that will vary on the popularity of the location destination as well as the actual resort. Additionally there are yearly maintenance fees, again prices vary with resorts, they do not remain fixed. Many people that wish to travel to other destinations join an exchange company like RCI, don't know if Interval is still around, another yearly fee. We have one in Cabo San Lucas.

Vmc Vs Owner Hooks
VMC 4x perma steel trebles best hook I've used, don't use anything but in saltwater. Freshwater Eagle Claw works as good as any of them.

30Lb Braid Woes...
I can't say I never broke a lure off on a cast but it's pretty rare. I only use spinning as most do here, 20# braid is my max some people do use 30 and 40#. Leaders are used by everyone, bit on the heavy side 20-40# is pretty normal. Most of us use med to mh rods, 7'6 and 8' real popular lengths, 1-3 oz lures when distance is required. As I say it's rare to see a lure break off here, leads me to only a few thoughts as why. The line may be compromised, lack of a shock leader, b/c digging in and snap casting.

Caught Some Bait Today
Yep it's bait, my buddy in the background uses them whole for shark........I'll stick with these.

Basics?
Not much to add to this advice. A senko produces bass just about all the time, I've never used anything better, and big ones too. If you get skunked you are either fishing the 90% of water with no fish or the bass are just uncooperative that day.

Best $30 Or Under Spinning Reel?
All the reels mentioned are just ok, they are fine for 30 bucks but what you have is a 30 reel and no more. An extra 20 or $30 is going to step it up a bit, I'd forget the concept of many different line experiments on a cheap reel. Buy 1 decent reel, put line on it and go fishing. FFO is a good place to shop, they have a soron 20 for 60 bucks, the recon supremes are really nice buys too.

Done With Bass Pro Shop
In Florida tackle is purchased throughout the year. My last trip to BPS was October 2013, I was solicited for a time share and I filled out some paperwork. I did receive ensuing phone calls, already owning a timeshare in Mexico I told them I was not interested, the phone calls stopped. I have no negative comments about BPS, the staff has always been helpful and I usually can find what I'm looking for. I do have the option of buying on line with a much larger inventory. Whether a topic dies a natural death due to a lack of interest, or in the case of this thread people still showing an interest. Proves to me that any topic should never be closed, unless of a rules violation. I do cut my braid with teeth.

What Happen To That Jumbo Jet..where Is It..i Have My Own Ideas
Just read an article on CNN, authorities believe the plane is in the Indian Ocean. They have data confirming that the plane changed course away from China. They do not know the reason why the plane went down, who or what is responsible.

Mom Is Alive, But No Longer With Us
My wife and I feel exactly the same way about life and death. May be difficult to put into words but our feelings are related to the quality of life that they had and how long they lived. My dad passed away at 77(22 years ago), the last 10 years of his life was operation after operation, many types of cancer, kidney dialysis, I was sad that he was no longer with us but happy his suffering was over. My mother is 91, still doing well and driving everyday, when she passes I'll look at how she lived and be happy that she had a good life. On the other hand my wife's mother passed away when she was about 50. Prior to coming to America she spent her time in a concentration camp, was very sick. Came here with no money and much of the time she was bed ridden, she had a crappy life, I'm so sad for my wife.

Chubbies Shorts.... You're Welcome.
I suppose there is a time and place for just about anything. I have many fishing shorts, don't recall too many being available in 6" inseam. Most upscale golf courses and country clubs have dress codes, 6" in seam would not be allowed, but be fine for tennis play there. Being in Florida many of us wear shorts everyday, year round, the activity dictates the style. Camo/cargo................I don't think so..........

Florida Guys Check In Here.
Senko is usually going to find them but it has been on the slow side. I'm not fishing for bass only peacocks and I'm using crappie jigs. These little things just attract fish, caught peacocks, a few decent bass and an oscar. In the last few days I've caught a snook, larger jacks and 2 barracuda this morning, haven't been out for fresh yet.

Best Knot For Braid To Lure Or Hook?
I probably haven't used the palomar but 6 times in the last 10 years, too awkward for me. If your knot doesn't slip using 15# braid with a 30# fish on the line, keep using it you got a good knot, mine passes that test. I use a double wrapped improved clinch with 7 wraps, singed tag end.

1 Lure You Have No Confidence In...
Can't say there is 1 lure I don't have confidence in, have yet to own something given enough time that hasn't produced. One lure I don't like are frogs, use them sometimes and they work fine, just don't care for them.

Best States To Live In For Bass Fishing
Don't come to Florida, weather stinks, over crowded, small fish that don't fight too hard. I'll suffer thru it.

Lets Talk About Your Fishing Goals For 2014??
Only goal is to get out of bed each morning. Just to continue do what I'm doing now until I'm no longer capable of it. I love the species I fish for.

Chubbies Shorts.... You're Welcome.
I don't recall ever seeing some those patterns in the 80's, except maybe on Martha's Vineyard or the North Carolina shore. I like those green ones Redline posted, I have some and I got them at Bells outlet for 10 bucks.
