  1. A Californian and an Arizonian were Elk hunting in the Arizona mountains when an illegal alien runs across a clearing. The Arizonian takes careful aim, shoots, and kills him. "You can't do that!" cried the Californian. "It's legal here in Arizona " replies the Arizonian. Later that night the Californian goes to town to buy some beer from Wal-Mart. He puts the beer on the roof of his truck and while he's making room behind the seat, an illegal alien runs by, grabs the beer, and runs away. The Californian draws his pistol, shoots, and kills him. As he is retrieving his beer the police come and arrest him. "But I thought it was legal to shoot illegal aliens here in Arizona !" protests the Californian. "Well yeah," says the cop, "but you can't use bait."
  2. The beds themselves will be there forever barring any change in the bottom. The bluegills may or may not use the beds once the bass are done and the bass may or may not return next year. They tend to spawn in the same areas because of the correct bottom composition. A trick for you so you won't spook the fish. If you're able to reach, take a stick and stick it in the water to mark the bed. Walk away. Give the bass 5 minutes to get back to the bed. Stand far enough away so the bass doesn't see you but close enough to see the bed and cast to it.
  3. There already is a sticky on jig fishing http://www.bassresource.com/bass-fishing-forums/topic/12403-jig-fishing-questions/ There's one for jerkbait fishing, and also senko fishing, If these topics were all under there own subforum I'd bet most of the information would be redundant.Senko threads already get locked because of the redundancy
  4. When's the next Hawg Tech reel give away? I'm battin' 1000 right now
  5. Another vote for Mustang. I have a couple of their low end models. Plain looking and smaller in size than the fancy models, but with both auto and manual deploy. Brian, I fish all day with the Mustang and forget it's even on
  6. I'm fortunate the last few mishaps I've been involved in, the other partys had good insurance. I carry un insured and under insured on my policy for occasions you speak of. Good luck

  9. I say no more forums until I get my food and drink forum.
  10. Not sure what I'm going to use it for. Never owned a Shimano. Not sure if they're any good I need to find a rod to match it up with.
  11. You should be able to use the existing wires if they are at least 8ga. You'll need a new plug/receptacle and a 60 amp marine circuit breaker or fuse near the batteries.
  12. Happy Birthday Dwight
  13. Drop it off at Rhino's You may be able to track down information thru the state with the registration numbers. There should also be a hull ID# on the starboard stern. (right side rear).
  14. There was an accident on a local cooling lake this past weekend. Report said 12ft boat got swamped. Woman wearing life vest man was not. Man was unconcious and needed to be recessitated. A boater heard screaming and went to investigate. Use common sense when you're on the water. Life jackets on and kill switch connected. Little green fish aren't worth dying over. Neither are the brown ones A-Jay
  15. 6ga wire is the norm nowadays
  16. Is the title in hand and in her name? I bought my first boat from a couple getting divorced and got a great deal. The woman was one of my customers so I wasn't going in blind
  17. I haven't prepared a speech. I'd like to thank all those who made this possible. My father for not using a condom 43 years ago. Bass Resource, Shimano, and most of all Hawg Tech for making a highly functional work of art. I used the handle I ordered last year for the first time this past Saturday, on a Revo STX(not the one in the pic) Has a really good feel to it and an even better look. Matches the trim on the new boat. A little history for you naysayers. I had never thought of ordering a reel handle until I stepped on my Revo and bent the handle. Just so happened it was around the same time Hawg Tech started advertising on BR. I used the bent handle for the remaining of the season and ordered the new handle during the off season. I really like the carbon fiber look but I'm a sucker for cork. Cork just looks classy to me, and fishing and cork go hand in hand. Hell, you can only get cork with expensive wine nowadays. Now if I could only get the red annodized caps for my Ardents. The box with the 3 handles was waiting at my door when I got back from the lake on Saturday. Here is a pic of the result.
  18. Welcome from the Chicago burbs
  19. My mother has a refrigerator magnet that says "Give a man a fish and feed him for a day, teach a man to fish and get rid of him for the weekend."
  20. Need a lift. I looked into it. Was told 3-4 hours labor. What kind of boat? I'm going to mount it direct to the transom on my Lund.
  21. My guess it would play satanic messages
