In my opinion, for learning, use braid, backlashes usually always come out, mono will kink and break. Also cheaper reels make it alot more difficult to learn, not sure what your using, like tbone said use heavier bait. If your tryimg to cast 1/4 oz lure on a heavier rod your going to have issues

What about dobyns, 70$ replacement sounds fair to me, all reviews ive read seem like they are great. But never seen one or actually talked to someone who has used one

All my rods are shimano, except one kistler which i like, but i need another crankbait rod. I have a 7'6 mh and 7m crucial cranbait rods. I want a 7 mh and probably going to go with another crucail. Havnt really wanted to try anything else due to warrenty reasons. Shimano been good to me. But what are you guys using?

I beleive i purchased most of mine at a local gander mtn, i tried to upload pic. Said it was to big. The jig has double rattle and wire hook keeper

I tried searching about what im about to post, hopefully nobody jumps on me, but since they stopped making the terminator pros top secret jig, i stocked up years ago but my selection is getting low and im a little bummed because i havnt been able to find jig i like as much as these. Im going to try the picasso spider jig, looks similar, good colors. But i loved the trailor keeper on pts jig, not sure if picassos have a wire keeper, or if those keepers you can buy serperately are worth it, let me know what you all THAAAANK. or if there is already same topic point me to it thanks.

Only ones i use. I have had two blades come off seperate baits, not sure why but, wernt there when bait came back. Still reccomend them though

Anyone know the scoop on alewives, i live in nepa and fish wallenpaupack. Alewives are main forage, do they do a spring run up creeks and rivers? I beleive they do but not sure when and how long roughly. Any info apprecuated
