Im thinking of getting into it, but im worried i will be spending too much $$$ whats the deal when you catch a fish on a rod you built. Will i be hooked?

This is on my list for ice out, i got the jerkbaigs down. Have to perfect the jig. I have no comfidence in a jig below 50* water.... So just keep it low and slow ??

So my buddy stepped on my rod yesterday afternoon, i was freaking out, ice hasnt came off yet, ive been doing the normal cabin fever go abouts and all that. Then crack guides broke, but got ahold of mike on a sunday night and with the help of him, rods shipped out and on its way to be fixed. Good people over there

But my warranty will be void then right? I do have a rod tube, lol ice is almost off now this happens......

Can i haveit fixed and pay for repair ?

How does shimanos rod repair work, will they replace a guide on a crucial with valid lifetime warranty?

Lol im juat saying if your targeting giant catfish a mr.twister grub wouldnt be my first choice. And throwing back chubs when your trying to catch a 100 lb catfish, seems a little silly. I guess im the only one who doesnt like him. A comparison would be im going to go catch some goliath grouper. Im not using a mr twister. Or small piece of cut bait on a 6/0 hook...im not talking about the episode where he goes for the jewfish, just saying

The difference is in the actions i beleive. I have a teremar that i use for catfish, stripers great all around chunk bait, live bait rod

Anyone ever used them? Im not much of a live bait fisherman for LM, but the stripers in paupack cant pass them up. As well as the kittys. Have got some lunker smallies on them too but mostly use them for beer fishing at night. But anyway back to sabiki rig, can you cast them towards a surfacing school, or better off vertical approach? Always had firends with casts nets in florida... Not sure if you can use them on paupack anyway.. Let me know fellas
