It depends on where you shore fish from. I fish some places with so many trees that casting a 7' rod is almost impossible. For such situations I have 6' rods.

I have seen this a lot in flounder and to a lesser degree with cod from my days working in the restaurant industry. The ones I have seen were usually a little more red in color than those.

I would try to save a little bit more for a better reel or try and get lucky and find a used reel in good shape.

Hmm you see a fish which is in the foreground a monster at that and you take the time to wonder where his pants are? Its almost like the picture where theres a smoking hot chick in the foreground in a bikini and theres something totally weird in the way background and it states if you see the background image then you are totally .... (family site) but you get the idea. LOL I dunno, just thought it looked odd.
