Random Thoughts for the Day
My contribution to the list - if solitare on the computer is truly random - why is it impossible to win two games in a row?

plantar fasciitis
I had this a couple of years ago and went to my Doctor because I could hardly walk - he referred me to a Podiatrist (sp?) who gave me prescription inserts - one set for my dress shoes and one set for my casual shoes - it stopped it immediately. You might want to check it out.

Bass Pro Sneaky?
Was at BPS last night - after reading this post - I carried my catalog with me - when I got to the register, the item on sale for $29.99 rang up at $44.99 - I said "no" and whipped out the catalog - the cashier looked it over and said, "yeah, but these prices are only good until December 31st" - I said "Dude, it's December 1st today!" - took him about 20 minutes to do the discount and mark the overring - LOL!

Structure Tips
You are right - in fact I haved the fish identifier turned off on my depth finder (I don't want to know there are fish there and I can't catch 'em ) - I only want to know what's going on down there - the fish will show them selves soon enough.

Had the chance to talk to an old timer yesterday..
I talk to an old timer every morning - I say good moring dear - no seriously there are some guys in my club that are a little rusty around the collar, but have taught me so many things about fishing that there is no way I can ever remember it all. Some times old school is cool!

World Series of Poker...
No, I'm pretty sure it was Moon - up to that point they had been pretty chummy at the table and still ended on a friendly note.

Carolina Rigs
I use the ready rigs all the time and have found them to be very good - less time on the water fumbling around with lots of stuff - just tie 'em on and give 'em a fling

....and she's not even blonde.
There's a convenience store near me that sells worms and minnows - when my son was younger we would always stop in there on the way to the lake - one day they had a new girl working the register - I put the box of worms on the counter and asked her if she would count them to make sure there were a dozen - her eyes got big, she looked around at the Manager and whispered "No!" and rang up my purchase.

Halloween bugs
Yeah, I kinda figured out that's what they are - pulled out the shop vac and sucked up about 10 pounds of 'em yesterday evening. Today it is cloudy and rainy and they are no where to be seen - wierd!

How do you put your jig trailers on?
The answer, as usual, it depends - some times I want a smaller profile and then I thread my chunk style trailers on - some times I want a larger profile and then I just hook them on - also, If I am using a crawl-type trailer (chigger craw for example) I will always thread them on. As always, you just gotta 'speriment.

Halloween bugs
Has anyone ever heard of these things? They look like Lady Bugs, but I have heard them called Halloween Bugs because they tend to come out this time of year. Right now I am looking out the window at something that looks like an Alfred Hitchcock movie - millions of those little cirtters crawling all over the houses in this neighborhood. What are they? Is there any way to get rid of 'em?

"Bluegill-izing Crankbaits for Clear Water
I have done this with Storm Wild Eye Shad (sort of a rubber crankbait) that I picked up at Wal-Mart - paint the belly chartruese with a Spike-it marker and the tail orange. I have had mixed results but they sure do look cool!

Fall / Spring Gloves
I don't believe there are any gloves that will give you as good a feel for fishing as your bare hands - but I have been using the neoprene gloves that you can get at BPS - I was out in 28* weather with 25-30 mph winds last Saturday and, I can't say I was toasty, but the gloves worked well. They have slits for the index finger and thumb so you can still pick out loops w/o taking them off. Cost was $11

BPS Brand suggestions.....
I'll second the Enticer jigs - good for the $$$'s

anti-freeze for my rod
Thanks guys - I wondered about that - but can you expand on the chap stick, please? Never heard of that one. Also, does it make a difference what line you are using - I seemed to have more trouble with braided line than flouro or hybrid.

anti-freeze for my rod
Ok, here's the scenario - October in Iowa - 28* - 4" of snow on the ground - winds 25-30 mph with stronger gusts - club tournament. Is there a way to keep ice from forming in the guides? It got so bad I couldn't cast a 1/2 oz jig and if I got a bite I couldn't reel in. Even dipping the rod in the water didn't clear it for long enough - and ice was also forming in the level wind eye.

Found A Good Video on Barb Melting

urp What about color?
I recently had an interesting experience regarding color - we were pre-fishing for a club tournament the following day - we caught fish everywhere we went - not all of them big, but fish never-the-less. As the day drug on (we spent 12 hours on the lake that day) I began to try to find a color fish wouldn't hit. If I got a bite, I immediately changed colors. I was never able to locate the off color. Next day, tournament day, the only color they were interested in was black - it didn't matter what the lure was, it had to have black on it. This was pretty much true for the whole club. The fish were the same and in the same places but something was different. As one of my buddies used to say, "don't throw what they bit yesterday - throw what they're biting today".

Prize Information Bureau: Scam!
Several years ago I saw an ad in the "penny shopper" that read: This is your last chance Send $20 to P.O. Box..... I often wondered how many people actually did.

Heartless scammer. **UPDATED**
I don't know - I once heard about a lady who had a vintage Corvette for sale - the guy stopped by to see it and found it to be in mint condition and low mileage - he asked for the price and she said $500 - he said surely you can get more than that for it - she said that's okay, my husband ran off with his secretary and told me to sell it and send him half the money
