  1. uh-o Marty! Look's like your giving away too many hint's!! lol.. Great looking bait String..
  2. X2, Great job on that bass! I love the way they look painted up, but as for catching fish their not big on my list either.
  3. I get the bigger bottle's of devcon from here! Great deal and they will do quite a few baits... http://www.texaswoodcarvers.com/Tool_Catalog/Adhesives.htm#Epoxy Glue
  4. ^^^ ;D ;D.. Has anyone talked to Dick to see if he's found another clearcoat yet? I tryed some etex I got from hobby lobby. I mixed equal amount's in a cup, poured that into another cup and mixed, Love the way it went on! But when dry it was soft. Not sticky or anything, but I could dig my fingernail into it. I'm sure it's something I did wrong because so many people use it, but I haven't gave it another try yet.. Marty has got me really wanting to try the ultra V, just because I'm jealous of how good all his bait's look...
  5. I cant say I've used the other's but I love DN. Can't believe he's having the trouble that he is! I could never get the brushing down, so I started dipping. Which worked great. Only problem with dipping is not getting one drop after you dip back into the batch. The whole batch will harden on you if you do. The other method took a lot of practice but the result's are great. I started thinning and spraying. Putting a light coat first, then heavier and heavier. About 4- 6 coat's total. Dry in a day, but super hard in 3 or 4. That's my 2cent's on DN's..
  6. I've used bigger, but I prefer the smaller scales! I still have some of the bigger mesh around somewhere. I usually use that on the musky bait's and such.
  7. Hmmm - that sounds like a very good idea! :
  8. Cool deal, thank's for all the great info. I'm determined to catch something decent on these dang thing's.. Hopefully I can get you all a pic soon...
  9. 'Greatful Dead' gill!!!! Liking the color's man...!
  10. Very good info man! Another question for you jig guy's. What kind of cover are you throwing jigs to. I see lot's of guy's throwing to riprap, rock's, isolated tree's, etc. We dont have lot's of that kind of structure here in Fl. Well we do have plent of stump field's but it's hard to beat a big worm or crank in those. The rest is hycinth's, hydrills, very muddy bottoms, and knarly laydowns that will hand just about anything unless your flipping a craw.
  11. Can't go fishing so been busy painting! Had a fellow send me a few of these little popper's and they look killer painted up..
  12. Their airbrushed and clearcoated with devcon 2 ton.. You aren't going to share some of those jig fishing tip's are you? lol.. We've got grass for day's down here in Fl and if their not getting snagged in grass their getting hung in wood! I started fishing them on 65# braid (same line I flip with).
  13. I'm not real big on them either. Here in Fl it's grass, grass, grass so a plastic craw and flippin' weight kinda take the place of a jig. I've caught a few dink's on jig's around brush pile's but I'm going to keep giving it a try...
  14. Not a big jig fan but I've been wanting to play around with making them.. Here's some I made this week. Custom painted the head's and made the skirts. Think I went a little overboard on the orange but they look good...
  15. Just by wrapping mesh around the bait's at different angles and making sure it's tight...
  16. Createx paints and some folk art acrylics. Little mixing here.
  17. Felt like painting some rapala's this week... What do you think...?
  18. Heat the bait a little with a blowdryer before you epoxy it. It will go on much thinner and bubble's will dissappear.
  19. ''THE HUMPER''... lol.. very cool man..!
  20. No change's bud...! They all look killer...
  21. ''''''''''EVERYONE, STAY AWAY FROM MY BAIT""""""""" lol... Man, great job Marty.. I knew you could knock it out..
