  1. lol....'PAINTMONKEY' got you huh...?
  2. I've been using salsa jars with the fluted necks. then wrapping aluminum foil and rubber band around the lid. So far, So good! I've heard of using wine bottle's too. The fluted neck doesn't allow much air in. Guess the wine bottle wouldn't help dipping though...lol... Good to see you on here Bob...
  3. All of these suggestion's are good but I didn't see anything about braid.! We have lot's of lake's like that here in FL and Braid is almost a must..
  4. Excellent post Idlov! You dont see many post like this on some other sites.. Everyone should post which clear's they've tried and how well they hold up. Would same some newbies alot of hassle and money. I still use Devcon on about 80% of my bait's. You just cant beat it. Lipless bait's are a different story though. The sharp edges will chip the epoxy in no time. I like spraying DN on those. I usually wait until I have 10 to 20 of them to clear before thinning enough to coat. Then I spray one light coat wait about 5 min (for solivent to flash off) then another, then maybe 5-8 more coats. Only take's a few minutes! Letting the first coat flash is mandatory! If you dont when you spray the next coat you will get bubbles from the first coat flashing. It is kinda pricey and if you dont know how to handle it, it can be a pain.. I've got a few other's that I might try in the future and I'll be sure to let you guy's know how they work.....
  5. Very nice indeed! Marty you should hire him on as a painter...lol...

  10. Went back to work (finally) after another week off so I've been kinda busy lately but I'll post some pic's soon. Where's your pics?

  14. Great lookin bait's..They all look ticked!
  15. BIG WEIGHT, BRAID, T-RIGGED, BIG HOOK all in the bottom of a brush pile! My partner pour's his own worms and he pour's this ribbon tail 14" black worm. First time he pulled it out all I could do is laugh. I cant tell you how many fish I've seen that snake pull in. he's caught 8"bass on that thing. Trick is the hook set. You really got to wait and let them eat it. I've found that the bigger fish seem to like big worm's in the evening though...
  16. Awesome work bro! Very sweet...
  17. KICKERFISH HOLE SHOT WORM... Hand's down, the best tail floating worm out there..
  18. you don't even have to sand them. just prime them so the paint adheres better. Experience has told me that the sanding really help's in the long run. Just a little scuff! Help's the primer adhear much better..
  19. lol.. Just createx airbrush paint's I mixed up. I was actually going for a shimano pearl green but settled on the blue. Came out pretty cool I've done one other back when I first stared painting. I painted a bluegill on it and didn't really like it so figured I'll settle on something a little less difficult this time.
  20. I'll agree with you 100%!!! BigM make's some of the best wood bait's out there and I have no idea how he does it. Carving, weighting, putting the lip in , sealing, painting, clearcoating! Great job guy's.....
  21. Decided to try painting a reel again. This was a gold quantum accurist before I started. Sorry for the horrible pic's. Sun's gone and had to take them on the desk with a light bulb. Tried to stick with something simple. After tearing the whole reel apart (I mean every spring, screw, c-clip, etc) I thought I was going to have to ship part's to a reel repair shop for some serious help! I got it back together ok (with no spare parts, lol) and it look's really awesome! Here's some pictures....
