  1. I'm total serial you guys.... ;D ;D ;D
  2. Thanks for the updates guys. Keep them coming!
  3. Worse than quiting smoking! If anyone figues out a cure, let us all know. I think the only recourse is to move south!!! ;D
  4. We like doing day trips for tackle shop visits. Yup I said day trips. This includes, my wife, my mom and dad. We leave the house early, go get breakfast, head to BPS, Cabellas, and a couple of independent shops in between, eventually stop for dinner and head home. I'll run through a tank of gas for the whole day and feed the monkey at each stop. We like to visit the independent tackle shops for different selections than the chain stores have. We buy alot on the Internet too, but we love roaming around the stores, shooting the breeze with the sales guys. And nothing beats holding the stuff in your hands and looking over a new bait. Can't do that on the internet. Besides, its great family time. Plus, watching my mother and wife down on their hands and knees going through crankbaits is funny as heck! They're worse than most guys. Good times!
  5. 'Bout 30+ years ago, I watched my father skip a Zebco across the lake...after about the millionth time it jammed up on him! I didn't dare laugh at the time, but its funny as heck now! I still bust him about that day! ;D
  6. Great interview!! Well done! Dare I say it? I've been one of the vocal critics of IKE, but guys...I gotta tell you...He really impressed me in this interview. I want to see more of IKE and get to know him better!
  7. Thanks guys...another one I'll have to try and pick up before heading to Lake Murray in April! Darned Bait Monkey strikes again!
  8. You have to go at least once just to see the place if for no other reason. I'm lucky cause ours is only about 45 minutes away. And i cannot complain about my BPS customer service. They've always treated us well. You get a few rookie sales folks every now and then, but overall they've been pretty darned good. And if you can go when they have their Spring sale with seminars - so much the better. Go and have fun!

Congratulations Skeet!!! I was coming out of my chair on the last Hawg he brought in. It looked like he may not get it in the boat!
  10. IKE is a PRO - nobody can argue with that. But along with being a Professional, should come some responsibilities for behavior that we would want our children or grandchildren to exhibit. If my kids behaved the way Ike does at times, they'd be sitting out the event in the Truck. (probably beating out the windows if they were IKE ;D )
  11. I did watch the final. He got river water in his mouth... could get sick from the bacteria I would spit it out too. Someones either been drinking the Kool Aide or the river water. He's a great angler, no doubt, but the spitting was just WAY over the top.
  12. Ok - gonna upset the Ike fans out there. He's one heck of a bass fisherman and he deserves respect for that, but he continually rubs me the wrong way with some of his punk antics. I can handle his fist pumps and jumping around, but where did the spitting come from?!?! The second to last bass he caught, he starting spitting in the water after he pulled it in. I just don't get it. Just plain poor.
  13. What type of boat - Aluminum or Glass? Depending on the decals, and the type of boat, I'd probably use a heat gun but VERY carefully. Generally you can heat up the decals enough that you can peel them off with a plastic putty knife or even your fingers. But don't get carried away with the heat gun!!
  14. Update: I got a reply from Navionics today: "Thank you for reporting this discrepancy. This is going to be corrected and you will be notified in due course when the new chart is released." Hmmmm...wonder if Navionics monitors BassResource.com? :
  15. A lot depends on what type of work needs done. Is it the boat or the engine? If it is the boat and you aren't satisfied, give Ranger a phone call. It is quite possibly the dealer. I have yet to have any problems getting service. And the Ranger folks have always been great when I call Flippin Arkinsas for a part or advice. Now, working with the Dealer on the other hand is different. Some are better than others. If they sell snowmobiles as well as boats, this time of year you will wait until they get to you. But I'd bet a call to Ranger to ask them about your dealer's service record will motivate a change. Keep in mind that calling in the big boys...It may tick your dealer off. But when you pay the kind of money they want for a new rig, you're entitled reasonable service time.
  16. Now, first good day you can find, take her out there with you on the Lake and get her hooked (so to speak). She may spend the couch money instead on the Bait Monkey! LOL! Good for you Man! Enjoy!! ;D
  17. The digital model operates with very thin cables and is SUPER Smooth. My father bought one for his boat last year. It really is nice. So far he has had no issues.
  18. Thanks for 'splaining! Looks like my next project.
  19. Until recently, I've always had MG TMs. Had one when I was stationed in Alaska and beat the living daylights out of it for 8 years and never had a moment's problem with it. Came home and had a Tour model MG and that thing was a piece of junk. It was only 3 years old and started having all kinds of problems. MG quit making the internal part needed to repait it so i sort of got stuck. My Ranger came with a MK and so far (knock on Wood) no problems in 2 years. I agree it is a Chevy/Ford thing. My Dad will only buy MG. His latest one has the new cable foot control and i have to admit is smooth as silk. Buy what you know in your gut that's right for you. Good Luck and Tight Lines!
  20. That is one sweet setup. I love it! Enjoy my friend!
  21. Has anyone here installed one on their own or had them professionally installed? I've been thinking of getting one.
  22. Welcome PA Brother! This site Kicks Butt! 8-)
  23. All i could really find on that sight for freshwater lakes was a link to Navionics. I don't want to buy another year if they haven't fixed the problem from last year's edition. On a positive note (I guess), i did receive an email reply from the area rep who said he is looking into the problem and will get back to me. I'll keep you posted what i hear. Thanks for the suggestion though. I will look at some of the other mapping products on the site.
  24. Anyone bought Navionics Canada Map in 2008 and expereinced errors? We did on a lake in Ontario. Reported it to Navionics and getting a response has been like pulling teeth. Now waiting for a reply from an email sent to their east coast rep.
  25. Looks like we all got punked' by Muddy! ;D
