Lake Murray, SC - Tackle Shops?
Awesome! We're staying at a house about 15 minutes from Chapin, so I'll have to check out the hardware store. I acutally like the smaller Mom and Pop places best. Thanks a lot! Seven days and counting!!!

Lake Murray, SC - Tackle Shops?
Thanks for the great advice! We're renting a house on the lake near Chapin. This is our second time going down. My parents have gone down to there for probably 20+ years or so. I can't wait to hit the water. I hope we do tear em up! Thanks again!

Lake Murray, SC - Tackle Shops?
Hey all you Lake Murray guys: Going down for a week next Friday and am wondering if there are any good tackle shops nearby? We used to hit Sportsman's Warehouse, but now that they are closing, I'm looking for other ideas. The bait monkey always gets hungry on a week long fishing trip! Thanks in advance! 8-)

Someone broke into my boat last night!!!
Please elaborate on this Long Mike! Sounds like a project we could all benefit from using your experience. What type of alarm did you use? Thanks!

Keelguard
:)Ok guys, I put it on yesterday and it was an easy project. All in all, it took about an hour. It was pretty much a non-event. Thanks for everyone's advice.

Keelguard
Thanks for the advice folks. I'll report back after I install it (Hopefully tomorrow if the temp is up enough here.)

Keelguard
BTech, I don't know if it will affect performance, but its a good question. I bought one last weekend at BPS ($152 for one to fit a 20ft boat). I haven't put it on yet and I thought last minute to ask here on the forum. Cold feet on my part perhaps, cause i get a little nervous when it comes to modifying my boat in any way. ;D

Keelguard
Anyone have thoughts on installing a Keelguard on your fiberglass boat? Experiences? I see the usefulness in protecting the boat, but are there any drawbacks of having one?

Jointed Shad Rap
You just hit on my absolute favorite crankbait!!! I've got two falcon boxes full of them in different colors, but one and only one is my favorite: Black/Chartreuse. If momma would let me, I'd buy these things by the gross! I know...I have a disease...can't help myself...darn bait monkey. :

Would you eat a pot bellied female bass full of eggs in the spring?
My personal choice is Catch and Release. I don't fault those who keep an occasional fish or two. My jaw only tightens when I see folks who are just out on a meat hunt. Anyone who fishes from my boat better be prepared to release every fish they catch, unless one is mortally wounded.

I made my military decision
Thank you in advance for your service and those along side of you. The advice from us old farts may get old. ;D Just remember this when at Boot Camp: "They can eat you, but they can't kill you- there's a law against that!" Good Luck and Take Care. Enjoy your summer too! - TSGT USAF Retired

BPS Spring Classic.. What did you get?
( I may be wrong, but I doubt the guys working the reel counter have the authority to price match. That customer would be far better off going to the customer service desk and asking them to take care of it. I've never had them refuse to match their catalog or online prices. Similar experience at the Harrisburg BPS: Online sale of BPS Swimbait kits $39.99 vs in store price of $59.99. I talked to the tackle guys (one said customer service would match and another said i had to bring in a printout of the sale from the Website). Went to Customer service - they refused to match the price - called the tackle guy to the counter and he treated me like I was the a55! I went home and ordered online. Irritating. >

Lake Murray, South Carolina
Zgonce- Nice! Thanks for the update. 4 Weeks and counting until we head to LM for a week. Between now and then, I need the weather to cooperate up here in the cold, brutal north so I can install a new ducer in the boat, change out the lower end lube, spark plugs and filter. CABIN FEVER is killing us. :'(

my all time favorite
Hank Parker seems to be a true gentlemen and a great ambassador to our sport. Getting your picture taken with him is great! Hank Parker and Jimmy Houston are two guys I'd like to meet and shake hands with. Both use their shows to teach more than promote a product. There's product placement, but not as bad as some of the other shows out there.

bass pro crankin sticks
Both my wife and I have had very good experiences using the BPS Crankin Stick. We have about 12 between the two of us in M and MH. Actually I have to credit her with getting me to use one. We were in Ontario a couple of years back and she was just skunking me left and right. She finally suggested I try one of hers, saying "You can just feel the hits better." I was like "yeah right - you've been fishing for about 2 years...what do you know." Well, crap - I finally used one of hers and S.O.B!!!! I really could see a difference. I don't know if it is the Fiberglass built into the graphite or what, but she made a believe out of me and my rod box now has a bunch of them. Try one and see what you think. They're not too expensive, although they've gone up this year - $69 when not on sale.

I'm home thick today
Hope you feel better soon Micro. Drink lots of water ( I hate it when the Docs tell me that). Get rest. Take care.
