  5. This is what I was thinking, I guess I need to get to some large ponds to learn more about seasonal changes, but it is difficult fishing from the bank. Another thing that i have seen in the small ponds that I if is that the bass are really tight to cover and, like you mention, I can find them under the shade. How big are your bigger ponds? Just to have an idea as to how big I need the ponds needs to be to show this seasonal patterns. Thanks for the information.
  6. Please just get the license, it will help the wild life deparment and you will fish without worries of wardens and tickets.
  7. Do bass in farm ponds behave with the same seasonal patterns as in lakes? I am trying to understand and learn the seasonal movements and thought that it would make sense to do it in a pond that is about one acre. The thing that I see is that because of the size it will not represent the real "seasonal" movment, Does it make sense? What are your thoughts?
  8. Thanks for the info guys. Last Sunday I went to a lake and got 0 :'(, I could have use the information presented here, but hey there is always next time!!

  10. Ok, I need to go fishing today! So I need your help as to lure choices, here is the info: Temp: 60 F it will climb up to the low 80's Sky: cloudy wth 30% chance of rain Wind: 8 MPH from the south water clarity: about 1 ft or less Body of water: Small 1.5 acre pond with the deepest part being around 6 to 8 feet located in the NW part of it. The pond has a lot of grass and some small plants on the top. Observations: I have seen during the late afternoon, maybe around 18:00 some fish come to the surface and eat. What do you recommend?
  11. I have been taking my girls fishing for bream and they love it. We use some gulp worm and have fun. It is to great to see their faces when they feel the fish at the end of the line.
  12. Yes Matt_Fly, we always need that helicopter lure!! ;D I liked LMB and charlie moore shows, but don't care for Jerry's, his show puts me to sleep!
  13. Thanks for the answers. Avid I saw those at Wal Mart and that is when I started to consider it. they like 7 or 8 buck. I will get one and give it a try. Thanks again!
  14. Have any of you used a pool thermometer to get the water temperature from the pond. They seem inexpensive, so I was thinking about getting one and do the test in the local pond and try to correlate the temperature findings with some of the articles that I have read.

  19. Thanks for the reply, I have a 7M spinning rod with braided line, I think that I will that linw to an 8 lb.
  20. Which rod and # line would you use for drop shot?
  21. Raul, so how does this vision of the bass relate to color of the line. Would they notice the difference between a color green and a clear?
  22. I got the 65# relation from the BPS catalog. :
  23. So if the lbs on the rod are strength how come we can get away with using 30 or 50 braid line? Are the rods over designed? ???
  24. another question. If the rods says 10-17lb line what is the effect, on the rod, of putting say a 65lb powerpro (equivalent to a 16 lb mono) will the rod break easier? ???
