  1. Well, like in any law enforcement, they probably needed the time to gather enough evidence to be sure they had a bust. Also, catching them with a few over the limit they could claim ignorance, get a small fine and some inconvenience and sent on their way. By waiting, they proved them to be poachers and total scum, thus justifying the harshest punishments they can give. All said, I still think they should line up guys like them and shoot 'em... Or at the very, VERY least ban them from any fishing or hunting anywhere for life as already mentioned by others here. I understand "meat hunting" and I understand having to feed your family, but that is just plain greed and ignorance. Guys like them affect every other fisherman and outdoorsman. I would add, most of these morons just flat out don't care what they do to our fisheries. There needs to be much more Harsh penalties handed out. And I though we had a problem here in Cali..all we can do is call the DFG, but in most cases, they don't have the resouces to nail these clowns.. >
  2. So many things I want to say..but, I'll just Bite my tounge and keep still... >
  3. Get the Okuma I suggested, unless you want to spend more $$$..
  4. Same for me, have tried other hooks, but they aren't the same. There shouldn't be a hook up problem wit these. I have hooked fish that were hookes as far as I could cast...You really need a good hook, and be a line watcher..

Truer words were never spoken.. However, it's my belief that you increase your chances getting a bigger fish with a bigger bait..sometimes..I would try a 6" Hudd, a 5" Mattlures gill, or his shad baits. Also look at the bbz 6" hard baits.. And don't forget to make sure your rod is rated for the weights of those baits..
  6. Actually, most opt for 20-25 lb. mono/copoly. Yup..some will use braid with or w/o a leader. I do throw my 9" lunker punker with 55 lb braid, 6" baits, I use a coployly, 8" braid with a 25lb leader, or straight braid if the water is stained, and has alot of weeds ect.
  7. Same with you on the Trilene 100% Certainly a possibilty..
  8. I agree, I would'nt get a rod that maxes out on those #'s..The Okuma 711H is rated for 2 to 6 oz's and will throw 2.5 oz baits pretty good. I have thrown 2 oz to 5 oz baits with mine. The rod goes for 109.00 shipped from TW. As for the reel, I use a Chronarch 101 which is fine for bass. I have it spooled with 55lb braid which has a diameter of 10-12lb mono, so it holds enough line for bass. However, if something like a big striper were to take my bait..I might be in trouble, due to getting spooled. In that case I would opt for a larger capasity reel, the Curado 300 would be my choice. Espeacilly if you intend on using 20-25 lb fluro, or mono..lower line capasity reels just don't hold enough line when your get hit on those long cast's.
  9. Uou guys must be getting blems... ;D
  10. I'll say the same for Samuri. Limp right off the spool too..
  11. Also, most tackle shops around here have them in the 1/2 off discount bin...what's that tell you..? I gave mine away..in fairness, I gave it a chance despite the advice I was given before I got them, a total waste of 30.00..And if one breaks, good luck getting a replacment.. : Compare the RS 8" trout to the BBZ 8" trout..you'll see a Huge difference, not to mention the BBZ has much better action.
  12. How strange is this..? I lost 3 6" swimbaits when I used the 100% trilene, never had one fly off with the yozuri..
  13. I wasn't thrilled with the ultra cast..I do like the Samuri though..
  14. Matt, you know as well as I do, that if you strip line off a reel, any line except braid will coil up..So imho, that's really not fair to insinuate that yozuri is the only line that does that..
  15. Agreed on both statements..
  16. You must have got bad spools, because I've put some heavy baits on that line, in fact lots of guys were surprised that I was using such a low lb test, yet I never had a problem. Trilene 100% fluro.? well, that another story.. >
  17. The "best"..? Matter of opinion.. I do agree about it not being all that great for topwater baits. Throw a 8" punker on a windy day..the line gets blown away too much to get a real action on the bait.. >
  18. I have used 8, 10, 12 and the 15 lb lines..so far, I'm liking the 15 lb green mist.
  19. Try the BBZ shad, and trout type baits. Affordable and they catch fish. Also check Mattlures shad baits, he has some nice ones, again very reasonable priced, and can be rigged weedless..
  20. I would look at other baits. RS isn't a company I'd buy from again.
  21. Make sure your hooks are Sharp..They do tend to get dull after time. Maybe try some OWG hooks.
  22. Never tried a trailer hook, but then never had a short strike on a chatterbait. I usually do a steady slow/med retrieve. Although I have had good success bottom bouncing it to, if there arent many weeds to foul the chatterbait. I like it for search bait in stained water, I have not had much success in gin clear water. My best times to throw it are early morning. Seems once it gets around noon time, the fish don't respond anymore.
  23. IMHO..the best part is when you get good enough to jam with friends. Sit around playing for hours and hours..
  24. Power Rings... ;D ;D
  25. Are you sure about that..? ;D
