what line do you prefer
Should have multipal choices... Swimbaits, flippin and pitchen jigs..55lb braid, sometimes I use a fluro leader, depends on the cover. Light stuff 6lb Seaguar InvisX fluro , on the spinning rigs. Spinnerbaits ect..10 or 12 lb Seaguar AbrasX fluro on my baitcasters. I will also throw Light swimbaits on the 12lb fluro.

Learning to play the guitar
I've been playing about 10 yrs..mostly blues..I play acuostic and electric.. There are some things best left to having a Teacher show you. IMHO, you learn faster, and Better than trying on your own. I do agree on buying the best insterment you can. Having it set up is nice, but if your buying a 120.00 geetar, I don't know if I'd go through the expense, oth, if it were a more expensive insterment, I would definitly recomend having a pro set it up for you. Also do get lighter strings, people cringe when they play my acoustic and find out I have 13's on there..lol Oh, one other thing, you can sometimes find good lessons on youtube. Have fun playing..

Pomona, CA
Corona and Irvine are Pay lakes, i.e. it's 22.00 just to get in each of those lakes. Corona is more known for the trout, but there are some nice bass in there. Corona gets Really crowded on the weekends..all the morons come out to fish for dinner. :

Diamond Valley Lake, CA
Early morning..try the points with a top water, spook ect.. Both dams are good for fish..as are the points, BUT it depends if they have spawned yet..I haven't heard any reports lately. DVL is 90 % rocks..a 4.5" roboworm on a dropshot is almost a sure thang.. I would ask some of the guys in the office when you go to pick up your boat, but don't believe everything, also, ask the dock workers, as they usually hear about fish caught first hand. Colors of plastic's ...purples seem to work well, i.e. Margarita Mutaltor, Morning Dawn..really anything with purple in it.. I would also throw your baby flukes on a scrounger head, or just flyline them. One thing to always be aware of, the DVL fish spook really easy, so sneak up to your spots, and try to be quiet.

knots for joining two lines?
X 2. There are other knots that according to others here work just as well. As with any knot, properly tying it makes a big difference .

Pro Qualifier and Braided line
I just picked one as an example. I assumed all 30# braids are similar. The math works in any case. 8-) What I meant was, being that 55lb has the same diameter as 10lb mono, why would a person use 30lb braid ..? I wasn't doubting your math skillz...

Pro Qualifier and Braided line
Where did he say he was gonna use Power Pro..? BTW, 55lb samuri braid has the same dfiameter as 10 lb mono..why use 30 lb..?

Thinking about switching to braid
The one reason why I do 6 and 8 is I've thrown heavy swimbaits with it before..and it holds. The line will break before the knot fails..and yup, the braid lets you feel everything..

Thinking about switching to braid
depends on the brand, and weight of the braid, but I'll give you my set up, and you can go from there. 55lb diawa samuri braid, has the same diameter as 10lb mono. For jigs and some plastic fishing, I sually tie on a 10 to 15 lb fluro leader, depending on the cover..If I'm in heavy cover, and whether or not the water is clear, or stained, I tie my braid directly to the jig.. My leaders are usually 3 to 5' long. I use a uni to uni knot, and here's where you can make the knot a tad thinner to run through the guides a bit better. On the braid side, I do 6 twists's, on the fluro side I do 8..this sorta elongates the knot, even with 6 on each side, I can cast w/o any problems. You will feel a slight "tick" when the knot goes through the guides, but it doesn't hurt the distance alot, maybe a few feet at most. For flippin and Picthing..I don't notice any difference in distance, nor accuracy..try it out, and see what you think. If you have any mono laying around, try that befor buying any fluro. Also, all braids are Not created equal..some are waxy, some require break in period, some ahve the color come off, and some cost a tad more than others. IMHO, if your going to try braid, I wouldn't go under 50lb test.

Uni-knot or Nail knot
My braid is 55lb samuri..I throw up to 4.5 oz swimbaits on a 7'11" heavy rod using a regular palomar knot, and have never experinced slippage, or a knot failure. Maybe if the braid you use is really Waxey..it may slip, if it does, maybe you should use a braid w/o wax..?

What Am I doing wrong- *Swimbaits*
For those depths, I'd use a slowsink..to shallow for a FS imho.. The TT can be fished in the upper water column, hold the rod tip high, slow roll it the bait, making sure it's where you want it to be, which should be the upper 1/3 of the water or so..then on slack line, give it a Slight twitch, this should turn the bait about 180 degrees, you can do this easily with the BBZ SS..reel in the slack, and start over again..alot of times that "twitch" will get a strike. If your fishing soft baits, and the bottom allows it, try "bouncing" the bait off the bottom, do this at a slow pace, if the fish aren't goin for it..speed up a bit. Sometimes burning will get a reaction strike, sometimes not...you need to vary the retrieve to see what the fish want. Are you getting any follows at all..?

After 12+ years of browsing forums...
I've met many "college educated" people who are as dumb as a bag of hammers, and have met brilliant people who have a basic high school education. I don't buy that "you must have a college degree in order to succeed" crap. Like it or not, how you spell and speak makes a huge impression on people. I didn't say it's fair, it's just how it is. It's the school's fault TO A POINT. Most of the blame lies with lazy parents. I completely agree...although I do resemble that remark about "Hammers"... ;D

Uni-knot or Nail knot
For tieing a leader to braid..uni to uni Lures on braid...Palomar Same with fluro, or mono.

I apply Megastrike on mine..adds scent, and seems to keep the baits soft.
