  1. Thanks ..I'm primarly concerned with strenght, as in breakage, and knot holding..I don't fish around rocks all that much, mostly weeds. I'ma gonna give it a shot in the 20lb Abrasx.

Anytime is a good time for jigs..
  3. Use 55 or 65 lb braid, and there are no hang ups..you pull out whatever your lure/jig is hung on.. ;D
  4. Ha, you must of seen my thread.. I looked on Seaguar's site, but couldn't find any info. that would cause me to buy Abrasx over invisx ect..If the properties are simular in both, then I'd likely choose the Abrasx..
  5. Thanks, I'll take a look see.. Dang..he has some Nice jigs.. 8-)
  6. Speaking of jigs, and not to highjack this thread..but any of you guys tried the "Dirty Jigs" TW carries them, some great colors to choose from imho. Sorry for the OT jj2.
  7. I think your problem may be your technique..If your getting overruns all the time. There are a few good vid's on youtube re: pitching and flipping, you can search either one.. No special equipment needed.
  8. Ya know..I'm in the same boat. natrual colors work well, but as soon as I tie on a black & blue, with or w/o a trailer..nada...everything is the same. I go back to my blurgill colored jig, and bam..the fish hit it..???
  9. I'd like to have a dollar for every post that contained the words...Palomar knot.. ;D
  10. What's lacking in cases like these is. Common Sense.. :
  11. At TW..they have the ultrasoft too..Just though I'd let you guys know..
  12. Nope, if you tie a uni to uni for example, the knot will easily pass through the guides. If I'm using a 5' leader, only 1 to 1 1/2 feet of leader is hanging from my rod tip. Again the trick is to tie a proper uni to uni to get a slender knot. If you tie one up, and it doesn't llok good, cut it and retie..

I prefer the Arkie heads in the rocks, I find they get through rocks a bit easier. Otherwise a football..and yes, try to imitate a crawdad when you fish a jig.
  14. Is the Abrasx as limp as the Invisx..do you know..? And why would you recomend the abrasx over the invisx just because of the test..?
  15. Basswest.
  16. And your avatar is a Red X... at least on my PC..
  17. I have a few rainbow trout swimbaits.. I have a couple spinnerbaits that have the willow blades painted in a trout colored patteren..
  18. I just bought some 6lb test for my soinning rig, I've used it for about 3 outings, and so far, I really like the line. So, I'm thinking about spooling up one of my baitcasters with 15 to 17 lb Invisx, depending on what your guys experience has/is with this line. This will be for a mainline, not leader material. I intend to throw light swimbaits, and 1/2 to 3/4 oz bottom baits..Taking the price of this stuff into consideration, is it worth it. All my other line is Yozuri Ultrasoft. TIA.
  19. tand, let me say this, I have thrown 3.5 oz swimbaits with that knot. Once my braid got slightly tangeled on the reel, I'm looking for a long cast, I load the rod up, and let her rip, only to watch my 40.00 bait go sailing across the water, weel your probably guessing my knot broke...nope, the knot held great, the line snapped about 1/2" below the knot. Most guys won't be throwing that heavy of a bait, so if a 3 1/2 oz bait can't break the knot, I see no use in adding more loops IF the knot is tied correctly, and you spit on the knot before cinching it up, especailly with fluro.
  20. I was using bps as an example as they do carry some Shimano rods. And yep, it's always a plus to retain your reciept..
  21. If you buy a Shimano rod from your local tackle shop ot BPS..doesn't matter, Save the recipt, if you need to replace it, take to where you bought it, along with the reciept, and they will do an over the counter replacement, but only if it's an authorized Shimano dealer.
  22. Ditto..I can't see switching hands..
  23. Great lookin rig, but why do you guys insist on having the crank on the wrong side..? ;D
