  1. That would be a Palomar knot. If you do a search, this topic has been cover a whole bunch of times.
  2. Use to fish Dixon, now mostly Hodges..and lakes up closer to L.A... 2 hr. drive down there for me..I'd be bummed if I got skunked.. ;D
  3. I dunno..for me, there's not much fun in bed fishing..too easy..I'll let em mate, and have baby fishies..then I'll get em..
  4. Then your missing out on some great fishing..
  5. A good sized backpack works for me..I have everything from worms to 8" swimbaits in mine..weighs about 35-40 lbs.. ;D I carry from 3 to 5 rods, depending on where I'm fishing. To simplify, carry what catches fish for you. I oth, totally over do it..
  6. PM RW..
  7. Good deal...Get the ultrasoft ...
  8. Very cool vid...Mike, when are you gonna get a haircut..?
  9. Dang, it would take me 20 yrs. to use all that.. Good deal though..
  10. Yeah, I had breakage problems with the 100% stuff, though it's o.k. for a light mainline.. Anyway, I went back to YoZuri Hybrid Ultrasoft..15lb test on 55 lb samuri braid, which has a diameter of 10 lb mono. I just bought some Seaguar Invix fluro, wanted to try the Sunline Sniper, but they didn't have it..the Seaguar was 20.00 for 200 yds..
  11. Geez, even here in so.cali..a 4lb bass is a nicfe fish ..
  12. The 6". Most of the time t rigged with a 3/16, or 1/4 oz bullet weight. I have dropshotted them also. The 4.5" worms are for dropshot, unless I'm really desperate and need to toss into some light cover.. ;D When I do dropshot them, I prefer to nose hook them. How do you rig those robo worms?
  13. 6" Flattail Roboworm..in Oxblood, or Hologram Shad 4.5" Flattail Roboworm...in Sexy Shad, or Hologram Shad These are for pure numbers.
  14. yea im just more ticked that i couldnt get the hook set. Im trying to get on some larger fish. I cant seem to catch a bass over 2lbs. 1/2 oz jig with a 5:20 sweet beaver trailer..
  15. Only until you try Diawa Samuri...
  16. A stiffer tip may help, I've used my worm rod, 7'MF with 10lb line. I would first try a 4/0EWG hook, Owner makes some good ones. When you rig them, are you exposing the hook, i.e. texposeing..? as opposed to keeping the barb buried.?

3/0 or 4/0 will work, I prefer the 3/0..make sure your hooks are Sharp..
  18. To be honest, I don't think there is a "Proper" way to fish it, here's why. I've caught fish, slow rolling them, yo-yoing them, burning them, and almost every other way you can think of..even just a steady med retrieve will catch fish. What I did discover however is color seems to play a fairly big part. I have most of the colors that strikeking has in their Pure Poision line, but 97% of the time (just a guess) the bluegill gets hit most..go figure.. ;D As for the retrieve, the fish will let you know how to work it. Oh, 1 thing, be careful where you throw them as any thing gets caught in the split ring, or that area, will foul the "chatter" part of the bait..I give a sweeping motion to get the bait chattering..
  19. Should be fine..just keep an eye on your line..the bite is usually very subtle..I try to keep my index finger on the line to detect bites..
  20. I have to agree with LC man..
  21. My 3 cents. I fish the shore 99% of the time, if you don't have obsticels like overhanging trees ect, a 7' makes sense because of the longer cast's. Otherwise go shorter if need be... I only have 1 rod that 6'6", my spinning rig, all the rest are 7'-7'6" and 7'11"..
  22. Ika's work anytime...Light line isn't nessesary, alot of us use 10 lb..and fish it weightless, upside down..The presentation is the key.. Do a search on Ika's RW's thread should come up, that will go into detail re: presentation ect.
  23. Absolutly, they catch fish ..period. Rig em upside down, with a 4/0 worm hook, no weight..cast it out, and let it sit..give it a twitch every 30 seconds or so..be ready to set the hook..There's a thread that RW made on how to fish them.. I'm with him I like the list. I might be the only person on this site that hasn't used the Fat Ika Before :-[ are they that good???
  24. WRB, I'm curious as what the bluestone does to harm the spawn. All of the city park lakes bluestone as much as they need to when it's warm out. Does harm the eggs, or the fry..? Thanks
