  1. Would depend on the brand too, not all rods are rated the same imho..
  2. I dunno, there's a bunch of great fishin places out that way...don't belive all the hype about cali.. Even Scott Martin could only manage a 16lb bag at DVL on his challenge show..
  3. This would be my idea of a hard swimbait, not nessesarrly my favorite, just an example.
  4. Well, I hope you don't take offense to my comments..wasn't meant to hurt any feelings.
  5. Check your PM's, don't want to highjack this thread anymore than I already have..
  6. I don't know...why you have to ask these hard questions..? I see 1 joint in the middle, then the tail has a joint..I just can't picture it swiming real well..No offense to the OP...I'm just wierd like that..lol
  7. Hmmmm..I guess for 6.00 it's o.k...Don't know if I'd classify that as a swimbait. I would look at the H20 Express swimbaits from academy..they are about 10.00 and swim pretty good..I have 2...oops, make that 1..as I lost 1 yesterday..both the 4" and 3.5" catch bass..I threw other lures for no love, yet got a nice 3 lb'r on the H20..I have the Talapia , but will likely get the bluegill to.
  8. I agree, the uni knot works great, as does the palomar if tied properly.
  9. LOL..late nighter huh..? Nope, was going to go, but then I decided to fish instead. When's the next bass a thon..? might go. That's at anglers marine in O.C...right..?
  10. I have on sbn.. Nope his bro wasn't there either that I could see.. Negitive on the buy 2 get 1 free..as I said, Performance tackle was selling his baits, but the selection was very limited. Trust me, you didn't miss much at the FHS..it was very crowded, and not many "Deals" on anything except stuff no one really wants. Reels and rods were selling for normal prices, although I did get a few swimbaits at a 15% discount.. :
  11. Surface rust is easily removed. If thery are rusted, then toss em.
  12. No problem...
  13. Well he wasn't there today...I did ask the owner of Performance Tackle about burning the kicker trout, he said due them being hand made the weights can shift ever so slightly sometimes and may cause some baits to roll slightly during a burn..He though the smooth finsih may help. I'm gonna see if I can't call Tyler and get the info. first hand..Plus I need to place an order.. I'll post as soon as I hear something. dang it !! , i wanted to go tomorrow or even sunday but it aint gonna happen :-[ > guess i will have to wait till it comes to San Diego in a week and a half . not gonna be as good as the long beach show ... and Tyler isn't gonna go to that one ...
  14. Or...buy a few extra packs..
  15. Will do..should be late afternoon tomorrow.
  16. I'll be at the Fred Hall show tomorrow and will ask Tyler about the burning deal..might pick up a ttrout or 2..
  17. If you mean me...try fishing where I fish..
  18. White, and white and chartruse are popular colors..then you have to decide on which blades you want.. I like the double willows in gold, but different lakes require different colors sometimes.
  19. Use to fish em alot, never really did well with them, so I kinda gave up..
  20. I dropshotted the Hog on a rocky bottom, I had about 12" from the hook to the weight, to keep the bait above the rocks. This was last Oct, or Nov..anyways, got a few taps, and 1 taker..the fish went about 2 3/4lbs..as it was a tough day on the water..
  21. The rated line, is a Guide..I have a rod rated 10-20, and I use 55 # braid w/o any problems. I have used 6lb on another rod rated for 10-20 same deal..
  22. Tried them last year..for no love..won't be gettin any more.
  23. I usually fish em the same way..even tried dropshotting them once..lol
  24. Yep..no need to cut em..I've had 5" bluegills try swallow a 4.5" roboworm.. ;D Even a short bass can and will hit a 7" worm..
