soft or hard???
I would suggest a coploymer, i.e. Yozuri or Izorline..I've had issues with the fluro breaking and or fraying... > The body of water I mainly fish is quite clear. I was going to use floro.

Okuma Reels
Not to bad mouth Okuma reels...as I have 1 of their rods...but 2 of the tackle shops in my area will Not service Okuma, or BPS reels..They wouldn't tell me why. Just sayin..

Trigger X soft plastics
Yeah...well tell them to try those baits in the high pressured waters of L.A. and Orange Counties city park lakes..

floro line or leaders?
I would consider another brand, IF you plan on using fluro...I use 12lb 100% for mainline, and as a leader. IMHO, that line breaks to easy, say compared to 12 Yozuri hybrid ultrasoft..also the abbrasion resistance sux..your mileage may vary..

Has anyone tried this jointed swimbait?
Well, I just got some, threw the 4" talapia today, and stuck a nice 3lb'r, when no one was catching anything. I think the swim action is o.k. for the $$$ they work pretty good imho.

A bait you hate to use
Jigs in the winter, cuz ya gotta fish em so dang Slow.. ;D
-
soft or hard???
Don't be...yes your gonna lose some, just as with any other lure..give the fish time to commit..I do a fast 3 count once the fish takes the bait..then set the hook in a upward motion.

soft or hard???
This is the trout swimbait

soft or hard???
RTBass, I'm not Matt, but I think these are along the lines of what he meant. The Ayu would be a tube type, the Mattlures Trout, would be the soft swimbait.

Trigger X soft plastics
Tried em...tossed em/

Flourocarbon fishermen??
Fluro isn't the end all to mono type lines, I find the 100% trilene fluro to be poor in breakage, and abbrassion resistence...I'll stick with YoZuri coployler line. And braid.

soft or hard???
Decent..swimbaiting takes alot of patience..you get skunked alot, But imho, the fish you do get are better quality, i.e. bigger fish. With the weedless Hudd, the fish has to commit, and you have to let them, otherwise you wind up losing a bunch of em.

soft or hard???
probably the best hard bait for the $$$ is Tyler's kicker trout, he can custom make any pattern you want. This would be a 8" bait. Also the 8" BBZ hardbaits work well. Nate's 8 or 10" slowsink trout, again these can be custom made. Google 3:16 baits, Jerry Rago baits, Nates baits. There's bound to be a bait that will work in your lake. I shamfully neglected to list Mattlures, as a Quality hard, or soft swimbait..doh..
-
soft or hard???
I think it depends on which baits you have.. Hard baits like the 3:16's, Rago's, Nates, and Tylers kicker lures might change your mind.. On Edit...for me it's the soft Hudd weedless trout, only cuz I can't afford to lose many more of these spendy suckers.. :-[

Spiral guides on rods..
One of the guys at the local lake has some spiral wrapped swimbait rods. I can tell one thing...they seem to cast a country mile, of course the spiral wrap doesn't garontee long cast's..
