  1. Hope for the best you Paul. Stay safe.
  2. Consider the Tatula XT 7'4" frog rod. Very light weight, great action and very affordable.
  3. Great thread Tom. Reading this, I can in my head create time lines for when and where I used a lot of the baits and colors mentioned. I have a lousy memory, this thread kind of kick starts the info to come back to me.
  4. I fish a bunch of city park lakes, which are basically big ponds, some are narrow and maybe 100 yards long. I use the same lures/baits that I fish big lakes with. Colors may change, and depth certainly is different. 99 % of the time I'm targeting big bass, and use the lures that are most like to get the bigger bass.
  5. Send him a check..Glad you found the problem.

  7. At $ 99.99 this is another option. I have 3 of these rods, cept in baitcaters. Read the reviews on TW.. https://www.tacklewarehouse.com/catpage-DAIWAROD.html?from=basres
  8. I use mono 99% of the time. I only use fluro if I'm fishing in gin clear water. Everyone has their favorite, use whatever you have confidence in.
  9. I do lots of shore fishing, the only time I use braid is If, I'm froggin, or flipping into Heavy cover, i.e. cat tails, ect. As WRB said, no difference if your fishing from shore or a boat, conditions dictate which line to use.
  10. In addition to the fluke, I'd toss a 4 or 5" senko whacky rigged in there, a shad color would be best, if you don't have that, toss what you have. Oh and don't use fluro, mono would be better.
  11. Old school. A 6 or 8" Lunker Punker in trout.
  12. Stained water for the most part. Cloudy or sunny, Senko in either 297, or 319, both green pumpkin with different color flakes. Using these since about 1999.
  13. I think we need to thank you for offering some great baits, ect to us.
  14. Man...your slow...haha..
  15. If you haven't already, bend the hooks to the side just a wee bit, also, make sure they are sharp. That won't garontee a bite, but it helps. One thing I would do is have a t rigged senko, or a craw type bait and cast where the bass blew up on your frog. This follow up can get you some good bites. As a side note, make sure when retrieving the frog, to give a long pause, if a bass inhales it, reel down and swing.
  16. I would. My first thought would be to toss a jig & craw type bait in there. Might take trying more than 1 type of bait to get the fish to bite. This is why they call it fishing, and not catching..?
  17. I've used just about every mono line out there. For an inexpensive mono line, Sufix Elite I find is a great value. Very low to no memory, I tend to use the camo, due to stained waters I fish. Also, I have 10 to 17 lb and even the 17 lb elite is very soft.
  18. Providing you can get the trig down into the cover, toss the frog first. If you get short strikes, i.e. blow ups but no hook ups, then throw the t rig in the same spot that you threw the frog.
  19. I was lucky enough to get a portion of Tom's worm and swimbait collection. I think I'm pretty well stocked on various sizes and colors for a good while.
  20. This makes think I need to open up my Tatula 200 reels, if for no other reason to check the lube situation. On edit: Opened em up and all is good. I had forgotten that I polished the spool shaft, and added oil..duh!
  21. I'd have to say, Senko, and a 6" roboworm. Both have always worked well for me.

Standard is 4", the baby is 3"..
  23. Soft frogs taking on water is just part of the game, I don't see it as a problem.
  24. Thanks for the heads up Glenn, appreciate it.
