  1. Charging, whether in series or parallel, is not good with a single bank charger.
  2. The 3X works well but it wasn't their best venture. The cam system is going to make noise.
  3. Getting 12 volts from a "in series" 36 volt system is simple. Just connect to any +/- of any one battery and you have twelve volts.
  4. Minn Kota wil tell you not to have the big motor on the same batteries as the trolling motor. Do they mean it? Yes! There is a ground wire from the power head back to the board to eliminate RF problems. One start of the big motor and you will short the system and have 36 volts pulsating right through the case, which of course is instant electrolysis. You can however remove the top cover of the trolling motor, cut the green wire coming up the shaft and use three batteries only.
  5. There are distinct differences between bass boat carpet and boat carpet (indoor/outdoor), which is a closed loop carpet.. The nap in bass boat carpet is designed to not allow the hook to snag. You can buy it online as previously indicated.
  6. Old house = none or very little insulation Ceramic will heat a larger area quickly as it is air driven heat. Both will be more expensive than hot water convection system: baseboard heat Neither are meant to heat an entire room but rather an area of the room Unless all zones are balanced and of equitable size and BTU loss, there is no way to have an equitable split of the bill. If you like where you live than you are going to have to put up with the expense. I doubt that a space heater will save you money. Go fishing - that will keep you warm.
  7. On another post I told that young man to run, don't walk. I would not go around the block for that disaster. Be patient and you will find a good boat at a good deal. Let your desire for a boat haunt you and you may well regret it.
  8. Contact : randy.myers@tpwd.state.tx.us He's the head honcho in the Biologist department and an avid fisherman. Unfortunately the state of Florida was dumb enough to let a top notch man go.
  9. It is more than likely a bent shear pin. That motor for some reason will vibrate like crazy if there is the slightest bend in the pin
  10. Watch those classified ads. Be patient and you will find a good deal.
  11. Depends on what year boat you are talking about. As a general rule - Model/length
  12. Run away from this deal and do so quickly. If you can't afford a motor to fit a 17' fiberglass boat then find a boat that your motor fits. You do realize that you are talking about a 25 year old hull that used wood for stringers, transom, and more than likely the top cap?
  13. "12 baits, 12 drops, 12 fish, 3 over 4 lbs. " Amazing: that's a better hook-up ratio than just about anyone in the world. "You wouldnt have tourneys won on patterns it would be more about spot fishing and someone getting lucky. imo" And you think fishing with lures is different? I would challenge anyone to the following: We go where you tell me to go with shiners and count the fish and then you go where I tell you to go and count the fish. Any guesses on where the most will be caught and their sizes? Read my website: it says "artificial preferred", but that in no way a denigration of any anglers abilities whether using live bait or artificial bait. As for separating IGFA records - They already do it with a vast array for the same fish, of the same size, and method caught. Now I am on my way to prep for a day of artificial fishing with a Dad and his Daughter.
  14. I'll be fishing but on the Marsh. Have fun y'all.
  15. Just up the road in the Poconos: More or the land of Mookdom.

  18. The day before yesterday at about 12:30 my trolling motor quit. One hour later my big motor blew the power head. Other than that the fishing was pretty darn good. Fortunately, the big motor did get us back to the ramp. The trolling motor was a simple repair, the big motor was replaced with a new on. So, you all want to know what it's like being a guide?
  19. Navigation: lots of shallows and shell banks Lodging: Real fish camp stuff - mostly primative Fishing: at times good - most often fair Most productive: Henderson Cove, Grass Island, north shore in the grass, Big Island, and Bumble Bee Island. Soetimes in the SW cypress but that can get very weedy. There is a rock bed east of Big Island that can be a hazard if water levels are down.
  20. Contact GYCB and they will make it good. I have to admit I am a bit confused because I fish this product all the time and have never witnessed this problem.
  21. Veterans Day is a day to remember all Military Veterans. Memorial Day is the day to remember all fallen brothers. For myself and all other Veterans: Thanks 42 years after a trip to Viet Nam, agent orange has bit me in the butt. But I am still one of the lucky ones because I can say it was 42 years ago I was there and not 42 years in someone's memory.
  22. North American Coot: It is a member of the rail family, a vegetation eater primarily, and winters in the south. There are certain species that are protected under the Migratory Bird Act. During the winter of 2002 we had an estimated population wintering on the Stick Marsh of 70,000.
  23. Very few of the thousands of types of algae are harmful to fish or the water. There are a few that are toxic such as the "Florida Red Tides", which is a salt water algae. Another potentially harmful one is the blue green algae, "Cyanabacterium". Most are harmless and do not affect the stability of disolved oxygen. The green color comes from chloroplasts, and photosynthesis takes place all day just as with the other plants. Although they will use oxygen at night, their production during the day offsets and exceeds their usage. The largest problem algaie is the filamentous algae, but this is only because gums up our baits due to its stringy nature.
  24. What's inexpensive? You have 4 batteries: you need a 4 bank charger.
