  1. Then you'll love this ;D ;D http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RPDdPuGtSBs
  2. Walmart sales this year have paled in comparison to previous year. Just last year at this time they had Bombers and Normans for .75...I loaded up a cart full for $50. If i can find the pic i'll post it.
  3. Its called the BASS Slam..It consist of catching all the black bass species: northern and florida strain largemouth, smallmouth, redeye, Suwannee, Guadalupe, Spotted and Shoal. I have not tried it yet but supposedly you can catch all of them in as few as 3 states , florida, georgia, and texas.
  4. Great work!!...I notice that you put a dot very low on the bait compared to other "manufactured" baits. Is there a special reason for this or just personal preference?
  5. The hybrid is a copolymer..Yo-zuri specifically states that its nylon(monofilament) inner is fused with fluorocarbon for greater abrasion resistance. This and most copoly lines will be categorized with monofilament because it resemble the characteristics of mono more than fluoro. As far as braid the only one i have used is the power pro 50# and only for flipping and pitching. I'm sure you can read some threads on here and get some different opinions.
  6. I wouldn't worry bout it to much..Some people on there are not the most honest people in the world. I don't think a mechanic would turn you away from fixing it unless it was not repairable. After all that would have meant work for him and most mechanics i know try to repair EVERYTHING!! ;D ;D
  7. Have you ever seen the pro's using colored lines? (green ,red etc). I have not seen them using it but i also haven't been to a professional tourny. Just curious Thanks
  8. I use to use snaps on cranks until i had a few cranks that the snap wouldn't /were hard to fit into. After that i reinstalled all the split rings on my cranks and tie directly to them.
  9. Glenn is there anywhere else we can watch these videos?? Do you post them on you tube or anywhere else. I've tried to watch the KVD video3-4 times and still can't get more than a few seconds into the video before it cuts off.
  10. I use 12lp yo-zuri hybrid on most of my baitcasters. I've found that 12lp is a good middle of the road line cause it has plenty of strength for most applications, decent line diameter, and good castability.
  11. I voted goob ;D...I learned on this reel too, and that was 3 yrs ago, it is still in use today although i have upgraded my stuff to Daiwa and PQ's. Its a great "learners tool" because baitcasters aren't for everyone and if you decide you don't like to use them, then you are not out much money.
  12. Slow presentations only. No need for it on cranks, spinners, etc cause they are not going to be in the strike zone long enough to see the line anyway.
  13. IMO shallow cranking doesn't need a slower ratio reel. The only reason i have one is for deep crankin because of the resistance you will face using such lures. The slower retrieve gives more power and less effort on my part to move the crank through the water. My shallow crankbait setups are all 6.3:1.
  14. Rod-Daiwa Reels-PQ's/Daiwa Line-Yo-Zuri Hybrid Hard Baits-Strike King Soft Baits- Netbait,Culprit,Strike King Storage- Flambeau
  15. Its a great lipless crankbait. Great action, tournament proven, affordable price, and tons of colors. Doesn't get any better than that.
  16. Spot removers...great little jig head and can find em just about anywhere..
  17. They are middle/lower of the pack IMO. They will work and a good place to get started crankin but are not the quality of some of the higher end bait(LC's, Spro etc.) I rate them right below Strike King (which is what i use mostly)..
  18. Yeppers this is a magnificent reel. Use it for my deep cranking all day and would recommend it anytime anywhere.
  19. I've never been able to cut braid with fingernail clippers. Just doesn't work for me. Scissors have been my go to on this question.
  20. same here.....We dedicate a certain percentage of our checks to the joint account for household needs and the rest goes into separate accounts for us to use as we please. Most times however we end up spending our own money on each other for presents birthdays, holidays, etc.
  21. There's a guy here that sells rods, reels and some tackle at a flea market. Every Time i go to his booth i get something i probably don't need. I have gotten at least 5 PQ's for $40 each, Pflueger Trions spinning rod/reel combo's for $35 each, and i almost bought a JM gold series reel for $75 this past week. I did however end up buying a carbonlite 7'6" mh casting rod for $20. It had a messed up reel seat that was easily fixed so it was still a great deal.
  22. When i was cutting some of the tag end on my line after retying one time i drop the excess line on my boat and tossed the pliers overboard.. :-/
  23. I bought a Cavitron buzzbait last year at the SC sportsman show. When i asked which one i should get the guy said"can't go wrong with chartreuse". The first time i threw it i caught a 3lber. So I'm gonna x3 the Cavitron but go with the chartreuse.
  24. had the same thing too..The first time i would click on the video it would stop after a few seconds like it was done. Usually if i click and start it again it worked ok.
  25. Awesome! Congrats to the Misses.
