I'm kinda hoping a newcomer will have a bust out year. Definitely would shake things up a bit. Among those newcomers i would like to see Andy Montgomery and Brandon Palaniuk do well. Should be an interesting year for sure. I just can't wait till they come to my neck of the woods in May. This will be the first year that i am actually interested in fishing when the pro's were here. It will be great to see them pick apart my home waters.

Do you notice any weight/balance issues when you change the grips to wood. Seems like a great way to add weight to the butt end of the reel without using the chair thingys and washers.

I'm gonna agree with the general consensious that a knot is the better of the 2. I've never had a problem with the alberto knot describe previously.

Where is the bend? If its in the middle its normal camber of a trailer axle and there is another problem causing the tire wear. If its near the hub then it a different problem altogether. I would stray away from bending it back yourself,lots of things could go wrong. The most reliable alternative would be to replace it.

OK so I've got a place that a DS would probably be a good technique to use. But i have some questions here we go: 1. Weights. A: Whats the advantages/disadvantages to different shapes. This area has a lot of algae on the bottom so I'm thinking a cylindrical would be best? B: How bout the actual weight. I've done some research and it seems that you want to move the lure without moving the actual weight. Seems like a heavier weight would be better for this? And what about Tungsten weights what benefits are tungsten DS weights? 2. Hooks. A: When is it better to texas rig a bait for DS rather than use a DS hook and nose hook the bait? 3. Presentation. A: I will be casting from shore so not actually going vertical with this presentation. Do i need to make some change to allow for the angle at which the bait sits in relation to weight? Thanks for your help!!

Really depends on the area for me, If it looks productive or i have caught fish there before then i will spend some time making multiple cast. If its a new place/spot a couple of cast and move on.

Not sure about the BPS extreme in particular but i have a medium rod and it does not do well for deep divers. It seemed like it was just underpowered for the weight and resistance that you get on the DD crankbaits. I even put a 4.7:1 reel on it to see if it would help but to no avail. Its great for everything up to about 10' .. I have since moved to a MH for deep crankin.

Looks good...I was going to suggest that you move the fish behind the I ...almost like it was using the I as cover to ambush its prey..

Luckily i lived only a mile from the lake and my boat only sports a 90hp motor so it shouldn't hurt to bad. But any increase still stinks.

Does anyone on the elites or FLW use KVDs stuff other than KVD? I don't think i've seen one other professional angler use his stuff.

Do you think college fishing is better or worse without NCAA recognition and would being recognized by the NCAA ruin college fishing ?

Never change them unless there's something wrong with the original one's such as being rusted after extended use or bent hooks. I don't have enough money to buy a $6 lure and then $6 trebles to go on them. Of course you could by a LC and get good hooks already on them.

I have that same reel and can tell you that it only has the magnetic brakes....However it is a great reel and can cast a lure a friggin mile..

Currently using a 6'6" MF vendetta with a 6.3:1 ratio reel. I keep it simple when choosing rods for technique specific applications. Medium power rods = treble hook lures. Medium Heavy/ Heavy power rod = Single hook lures.

I bought a Quantum Escalade from Dick's when i first started bass fishing 4 years ago. I had been using a black max and pinnacle solene( both good reels and still used today). I thought this quantum was going to be awesome. The reel did perform well (and still does) but for the $80 price tag i could have gotten much more. The only things Quantum makes now that interest me are the signatures series rods and the signature series reel that on sale at BPS.

Guess i'm gonna have to be the only one to recommend the Daiwa Tierra. I have 4 of them (plus 2 team v's which is essentially the same rod) and for the money you couldn't ask for a better rod. 10 rod guides IM7 blank, full cork handles can't go wrong with that combo.

Yea i guess i just wish the tours lasted longer. Elites its 8 -10 tournaments and done...flw a little better. Of course you throw in the opens and stren series, etc it makes for more, i guess i just want to see the big guys fish some tournys in fall or winter and see how they would approach that situation.
