  1. Yep great reel i've got 4 of the PQ's ( 2 regular, 1 TE, and a LTd) all of them have been exceptional reels for me.
  2. Don't you think it would be awesome to have 4-5 Majors like the classic or flw cup per year. Maybe a U.S. Open like golf has would be sweet too.
  3. I could be wrong but didnt Skeet win the classic on Red river flippin a chigger craw?
  4. oh the blugills ......makes me wanna go buy some paints and stuff.. anybody know where i can purchase talent like that???? Great job
  5. Winning Gear Notes VanDam said he used the same rod/reel/line combination to crank that he used to win the Elite Series post-season in Montgomery, Ala. last summer. With the crank, he employed his signature series Quantum Tour KVD cranking rod, which is a fiberglass/graphite blend. He used a 5.3:1 Quantum casting reel and 20-pound Bass Pro Shops XPS fluorocarbon. This was stolen from another site, you can go to Strike Kings facebook page and link up to the whole article. Very informative..
  6. As long as mine is not crumbling to dust, i leave it on.
  7. Wouldn't it also depend on where the transducer is mounted? If its mounted on the trolling motor what you see on the screen will most likely be under the boat and if its mounted on the transom then what you see is most likely behind you correct?
  8. Great fish Goose!!!.....chatter baits have been a productive part of my arsenal too..Keep experimenting by adding different trailers and retrieves and you'll find they are one of the most versatile lures you'll ever own..
  9. When i first started fishing i used a soft plastic storage (basically a bag with ziplocs in it) to hold senkos. Well i got to many senkos and took them out and decided to put my spinnerbaits in the bags. Well after about a month of being in those bags you can imagine what happened. All the spinnerbaits blades got corroded and the hooks rusted . I ended up replacing about 6-7 spinnerbait and needless to say it was a lesson learned to me.
  10. WoW you must be really old!! HaHA J/K ;D I don't know where it originated either but i think the OP understands the meaning behind "the nuts" now
  11. Yea i thought the aluminum was expensive too so i built my own here's some pics.
  12. The nuts is a hand in poker when you know you can't (not supposed to) be beat. And I've played pool for a long time, golf to , both giving and receiving handicaps and never have has anyone ever referred to giving to much handicap as "the nuts". See #1...http://www.*/define.php?term=+the+nuts
  13. Man those are SWEET!!!!....I will give you 3 "YOU DA MANs" for 1 worm.............Seriously though
  14. the rc cranks in bps are 11-15 ea depends on sale like fishing classic which is 11 each its expensive than 7 dollars tbh yes but aren't those Lucky Craft baits ?? there's a BIG difference between Luck-E-Strike and Lucky Craft
  15. Pretty sure i heard somewhere that they had the florida strain of largemouth so skys the limit i guess
  16. $7 seems a little high for a value priced company like Luck-E-Strike. I've been very interested in these baits before you mentioned the price. If they are gonna charge $7 i'll just go with the KVD 1.5 and 2.5
  17. So how bout it, how close to a another angler do you have to be to say something/or leave the area? Since i mostly just recreational fish and if there's another boat within 75 yards i'll just leave.
  18. Just in case this is not a rhetorical question ..."The nuts" is a poker term used when a player has a hand that can't be beat. As far as the baits..I don't think they'll be reeking "Havoc" anytime soon ;D ;D ;D
  19. What does the number of axles have to do with needing brakes? Weight is weight and unless you're pulling with a heavy truck (e.g. F250/350, etc), you're always better off to have some extra braking. Agreed. I have a single axle trailer with a 1575 lb boat and a 200 HP engine. This is the trailer that was matched with the boat when it was new. I have brakes and they are useful with this much weight. Just curious did the trailer come with the brakes or did you put the on after you bought it?
  20. I'm curious to the difference between the plastic lens that you refer to and glass ones?
  21. I will have to agree with everyone here about value priced sunglasses being inferior. I used to not think this way, i used the $20 walmart sunglasses for years thinking "they are polarized and cut down on glare so why do i need to spend big bucks on a pair of nice glasses that I'll probably lose anyway". Well now I'm a changed man, my sweet wife bought me a pair of Costa's 580's for Christmas and the difference is night and day. My advice is that if you're in a pinch right now just get something cheap(like the walmarts) and save up for something better. After all ,even if you have cheap glasses, it is better than nothing.
  22. That's why i don't want one, i need a good excuse for my "skunked" days ;D ;D ;D J/K good luck let us know how it works on the waters
  23. What does the number of axles have to do with needing brakes? Weight is weight and unless you're pulling with a heavy truck (e.g. F250/350, etc), you're always better off to have some extra braking. Personally i don't know.. I just built the trailers. The company i worked for built boat trailers for most of the marine dealers around the southeast and none of the single axle were ordered w/ a braking system. If i were to venture a guess it would be that the tandem and triple axle trailers were reserved for heavier boats that would require the extra stopping power.
  24. I used to use snaps, then i noticed that the snaps wouldn't fit into the wire loop or i had a hard time getting them to fit in some crank baits. Also i noticed that when i tried to get the split ring off that it would mess up the bait and i would have to spend time top tune it correctly. Just seemed like more hassle than tying line so i stop using them.
