  1. Awhile back I lost my one and only key to start my 1989 Champion. I went to our local locksmith and he was able to make me one in about 10 minutes and only cost me $15.00. You might want to check with your local shops, one of htme should be able to make you one.

  4. Cool, that sounds better than "Sucking Hose" and getting a mouthfull of gas, OK guys, shut up, HA! Yeah, I live in this crazy state of California where I'd probably go to jail for something like that. Cant wait to move to AZ in 2 years. So, what if I was to recarpet the boat, get the seats reupholstered and buff out the hull to make it shine, how much would be a fair asking price? Would it be worth my time and effort? Thanks again!
  5. Thanks guys. Do I need to siphon the gas out of the tank or is there another way? Also, how do I make sure all the gas is out and how would I properly dispose of the old gas? Any other tips and or tricks I should know? Thanks again!
  6. OK, the wife says the old 1989 Champion 201 F/S has to go. It has a 1992 200 Merc EFI that was rebuilt in 1999 by a traveling Mercury mechanic. The interior is pretty much toast and the gel coat has seen better days. It has a Motor Guide 85 pound thrust 24 volt trolling motor and 2 Lowrance X85's. Now the issue. Due to health issues it had sat for almost a year without being started or anything. Everything worked fine the last time I used it but that was almost a year ago. I know letting the thing sit was the worse thing I could have done to it but its too late to change that. Anyhow, I've got a couple perspective buyers so I attempted to start it. It took awhile to get fuel up to it but I finally got pressure to the fuel bulb now it wont fire. Yes, the kill switch is up. I did pop the cowl and noticed the fuel had a strange smell, not the rotten egg smell, just different. No I did not drain the tank, will old fuel cause the motor not to fire? I did also notice that it has a slight fuel leak under the cowl on the drivers side of the boat. Could this cause an issue? I replaced the plugs with brand new ones. and tried again but still she would not fire. Can someone please help me out? Also, if I sold it as it sits what do you think would be a fair asking price? BTW, the health issues are over and once again I'm on the water every weekend. Now I do it in my 2008 Champion 210 Elite

  8. I know chances are I'm going to get the ole, "Use the serach" speech but I have and cant find the information I am looking for. Possibly I am searching wrong. Anyhow, i want to make my own hangers for bags of plastics in their bags, Senkos, Sluggos, etc, etc. under my rod locker lids or center storage compartment because the pre-made ones are more than I am willing to spend. Hopefully you understand what I am asking. Any assistance woyld be appreciated, Bass-Mike, "Search Challanged"

  18. I use the cylinrical Mojo Weights, but not in its stock configuration. I modify it slightly so it does not hang up as much in rocks. What I do is thread the weight on the tag end, grab the weight about 1/2 way down, squeeze it so it holds on the line and then bend it almost 90 degrees to resemble a Lindy weedless weight. When flipping a drop shot I use a standaed casting sinker. Cheap, inexpensive and effective. In my opinion there is really no need to buy the over priced specialized drop shot weights.
  19. Kinami Flash are Yamamotos, Derek Yamamoto, Garys son sells them. They run the same price as the Senkos Try wacky rigging them with rubber O rings, they will last longer.
  20. Yeah, big melons equal big brains, yeah, thats the ticket.......... Maybe we should start a BIG GORD BASS CLUB, BWHAAAAAAAAAAA!! Yeah, then I could also keep cheese and chips in it so I could snack as I fish, " Nacho, nacho man... I want to be a nacho man!" HA!
  21. BWHAAAAAAAAAAA!! Thanks guys for not being too brutal. I'll have to give some of your ideals a try. This sounds interesting, might have to have the little woman try that for me, I'm no good at sewing. I'm sorry, I cant comment on that, I'm scared I'll upset someone, HA! Thanks buddy! HA! If you have a bright neon green pickle bucket with some streamers hanging off of it, eye holes cut out and a fancy chin strap I'll pay for shipping. HA! That was one of the first things I thought of when I read your original post about the sombrero. Thanks again all! Mike
