Found my new to me boat. Wooooo Hoooooooo
Thanks, I'm pretty proud of both of them. I'm considering putting my chrome rims back on my truck so they will match the trailer, either that or I'll get some black rims for the trailer. Thanks for the advice Thanks! I remember back when I was a non boater. I always liked the single console ones myself so I hear ya Thanks! I'll have to check into that. Yep, they are waxing it up and detailing it for me. I was hoping to pick it up tomorrow, Wednesday but I wont be able to pick it up until Thursday, bummer. Can you tell that I'm pretty excited? Thanks again everyone!

Funny you said that. She currently has a 2004 Black Supercharged Monte Carlo SS and she wants the new Camaro SS, in black of course, when it finally comes out, bummer for me huh? HA! I do plan on it if it does not have one.

You opinion on a vehicle...
There is nothing wrong with having a performance truck as a daily driver as well as a bass boat hauler if done right. Like others have said the Lightning was designed to be pretty much a sport truck. Me personally, I've got a 2005 Chevy Silverado VHO, LQ9 6.0 with 4 inch stroke crank, bored to 4.030, which turns the stock 364cid into a 408cid. I then added a custom ground Crane Cam, GM Performance Products L92 Heads and placed a Magna Charger 122 Radix on top of it. To handle the power I have a built L480E transmission with a Yank Torque Converter followed by a Detroit Tru Track rear end with APR studs covered by a T/A Performance differential cover. For stopping power I've got the 15 inch drilled and slotted Baer Eradispeed rotors. The suspension mods include a 2/3 inch Bell Tech drop with front and rear sway bars and Street Performance Shocks.

Thanks guys! Everything is in place. I'll be putting a substantial down payment and I'm pre-approved for the remainder so the only way it wont work out is something happens to it, God forbid, this weekend. As to the no dual console, I was kind of surprised myself but she has always said that the console doesnt provide much protection and she also said that it would be easier for me to fish out of because the second console gets in the way at times, GREAT WIFE! I'll call the shop tomorrow to be sure it got back there fine. Cindy says that I'm acting like a kid at Christmas. HA! I cant deny that I'm very excited. By the way, thats Ryan Newman standing next to me in front of my current boat

Computer Question?
For PC's Firefox is a little safer than IE but the bottom line is more people use IE just because it comes bundled with Windows however, the only reason Firefox is safer is because the jerks out there want to cause as much damage as possible and like I said, more people use IE. Now dont take me wrong, Firefox is NOT completely safe, nothing is. You must still be careful. Its not IF you'll get "Infected" but WHEN and how much damage it will do before you catch it. I'll be the first to admit that even though I take precautions, firewalls both software and hardware, routers, switches, virus protection, blah, blah, blah, I've still had to format our PC's more than once. I said it before and I cant stress it enough, DO WINDOWS UPDATES! This is your best defense. I dont use the automatic updates and I'll tell you why. Microsoft puts out their updates on Tuesdays, people download and install the updates then with automatic updates. Come Wednesday or Thursday MS discovers that the update had a bug that caused things to go wrong and then they release an update to the update on Friday. I wait until Friday evenish to view and install the updates. Some people say that MACS are the best, while this MAY be currently true remember, as more people migrate to the MAC because of their security so will the jerks that attack windows based PC's bassnman mike

Found my new to me boat. Wooooo Hoooooooo
First off I gotta say that I have the GREATEST WIFE IN THE WORLD! As you all know I've been looking for a new to me boat for awhile now and have been asking all kinds of questions, trust me guys, I appreciate all your patience and understanding. I currently have a 1990 Champion 201 F/S with a 1992 200hp Mercury EFI. It runs great but the interior is in pretty bad shape, the gel coat is getting bad and its just getting old. At first the wife allotted me about 15K but after looking at a few boats, going on test rides etc, in that price range and not finding anything that I would really be satisfied with, she told me to get exactly what I wanted. Yesterday I found what I believe will be MY BOAT. No I have not seen it in person yet but it is a marine owners demo boat, fully loaded, and comes with full factory warranty. The reason I didn't pick it up this weekend, yes the funding is already in place, is because he is using it in a tournament and it wont be back to the shop until Monday however I did put a deposit down on it so its being held for me. The only way I wont get it is if something happens to it this weekend, keeping my fingers crossed. One bummer is that the shop is about 3 hours 1 way, away from me and have to work this coming week but I'm going to see if I can take Wednesday, Thursday and Friday off. I mean, come on, if I take Wednesday off and pick it up I have to go fishing, right? Anyhow, here are the specs: 2007 Champion 210 Elite SCX, 20' 10" length, 95" Beam with 50 gallon fuel tank. Mercury 250 XS with a 10" Hydraulic Jack Plate Dual Blinker control on the wheel Rod Lock-R-Bar Lowrance LCX-38C HD on the bow, LCX-28C HD on the console. Hydraulic steering 36 Volt 105 lb Tour Edition trolling motor w/Gator Mount and Recessed foot pedal 4 Optima Batteries 4 Bank on Board Charger Phillips Battery trays Custom tandem axle trailer with disc brakes, spare tire, and swing tongue. Full Factory Warranty on both the boat and motor. Like I said earlier, I HAVE A GREAT WIFE!! A VERY HAPPY bassnman mike Edit Here are some pictures/

Do you own a boat?
As of the posting of this reply currently I have a 1990 Champion 201 F/S with a 1992 200hp Mercury EFI and a 10 foot Jon boat. However, this coming Thursday or Friday I SHOULD be picking up my fully loaded 2007 Champion 210 SCX Elite with a Mercury 250 XS Racing Optimax WOOOOOOOOO HOOOOOOOOOOO! I'm also thinking about replacing my Jon boat with a Sea Eagle Fold Cat for the smaller waters. Yes, I have a GREAT WIFE that understands my addiction. bassnman mike

Boat Maintenance
I was told to get the impeller replaced once a year unless you use it alot. I get mine replaced once every 2 years because I do use it alot. If your motor sets for awhile without running thr impeller takes a set shape and wont flow as well. You can always hook up a hose with the "Rabbit Ears" and run it for 5 minutes and this helps prolong the life of it. When I have the inpeller changed I also have the lower end oil changed as well as have my prop checked for fishing line and have my mechanic give the Merc a "once over". Yes, it would be cheaper to do it myself but I always get mine serviced during the winter months because his rates are 1/2 what they are in summer. By the way, everyone I've talked to has told me the best thing you can do for your motor is use it. bassnman mike
