Ultimate Fishing Show Novi, Mi
It took me An hour and 45mins to get there from Pontiac, and to me the event sucked eggs.... But I did manage to spend $140, and got me a Abu vendetta rod for $54. Also stocked up on some of Waynes plastics. I wished people would freaking learn how to drive in the snow...I mean COME ON people, driving 15mph down telegraph makes no sense, It causes more harm than good. The road wasn't even icy because of the salt trucks that were everywhere. sorry about the rant Maybe it will be better on Sat. 8-) :-?

CrankBait Setup rod/reel
Yeah, I'm not to worried about throwing deep cranks as much as I originally thought I would. I'm gonna stick to 10' and shallower this year. You guys are giving some great versatile information on this topic. I appreciate it very much.

Re: Which reel for application
what? :-?

Vendetta power rating ?
It's because of the taper. The 7' has a moderate taper, it's quite close to fiberglass in action. The 6'9" has a fast taper. The 6'6" you have listed has an extra fast taper. I have the first two rods. That's why you are seeing the difference. You have the VTC69-6? How does it perform?(casting, sensitive, etc.) And What do you mostly use it for? Excellent sensitivity, very well balanced with a Revo, Zillion and Fuego and I would imagine Pflueger and Shimano reels. I use it for pitchin' jigs/trailers to 5/8 oz, creature baits, etc. Matched it with 16 lb flouro. 8-) ;D Well I'm sold... I have a feeling you work for that dang monkey.... ;D

Vendetta power rating ?
got this the from Abu site VTC70-5 (1187728) 8-17 1/4-5/8 7ft. 0in. Medium 79.95 VTC69-6 (1187727) 12-17 3/16-5/8 6ft. 9in. Medium Heavy 79.95 VTC66-6 (1187726) 12-20 3/16-5/8 6ft. 6in. Medium Heavy 79.95 How is the MH rated for 3/16-5/8 lures, and the M is rated 1/4-5/8 lures... I don't understand why The MH handles lighter weights than the the M. Maybe I just don't understand power ratings.... 8-)

CrankBait Setup rod/reel
I have forced myself to look into the Carrot Stick...I just can't seem to get past the orange color... I have always disliked the color... Right now I'm torn between the Loomis CBR845, Crucial Crankbait rod 7'mh or a Falcon rod... Hopefully Falcon will be at the Ultimate Fishing expo this week so I can finally get my hand on some their rods. Thanks for you input though.

Good Cheap Baitcast Reel
But if you are willing to spend a few more dollars Tackle warehouse has a Diawa Fuego on sale for 131.99 shipped($250 retail) and is hands down a better reel... I like the fact it is smaller profile than the Citica, but by no means is the Citica big..

Good Cheap Baitcast Reel
Shimano Citica 201E(Lh) or 200E(Rh)....You can find them for around $90 shipped...Bass Pro wants $128 otd.. Bearing count is over rated...

CrankBait Setup rod/reel
Do you think throwing shallow to med cranks on the MH would be ok.... you should be ok but the flip side to this is those style of cranks tend to be on the lighter side. the Falcon Original Cast 7' Med Hvy i think would make a great rod for a blend of big and small. this series of rod is IMO a little lighter than what the rod rating states. you wont be wore out on big cranks and with a good reel should be able to toss 3/16 baits ok. http://www.***.com/descpageCASTFALCON-FOGC.html# does this rod have a parabolic bend?

Hope I get use to reeling left handed!
What advantage would you have casting left handed vs. casting right handed?
