  1. I'f I was to spend $500 on a rod(which I would never) It would be a custom built rod just for me... 180 is the max I would ever spend on rod... 8-)
  2. Alarms in boats are a walk in the park to disable.... But only if the thief know it is present... Weld the nut to the ball...You could also weld a piece of 4140, 1060 or T.G.P inside or outside of the hitch in the location where someone would attempt to saw it... I would love to see some one saw into that with a hack saw... It is what I did to mine when I made my hitch. Any local Mom-n-Pop fab shop would do this for you...
  3. I have the 7ft spinner bait casting rod and I love it...yes it is a little tip heavy but it doesn't bother me.... The guides have performed very well while using 50lb briad for a season IMO....I love fishing spinner baits so this rod has been used a abused a lot, and it took it like a champ..... I also use the rod for pitchin jigs in medium to heavy cover and it gets the fish to the boat fast... 8-)
  4. I wanna see a battle for AOY between KVD and IKE
  5. avid 6'6"AVS-66mf with a 2500 stradic is my goto spinning setup period.
  6. key never leaves the Ignition... I lose my mind and go crazy if it is not there....
  7. only if your selling them?
  8. I went with a Diawa FuegoL for mine... It looks pimpin on the vendetta... TW $145 Shimano Citica they are readily available for $97 shipped on ebay... I think BPS has the carbon light for $90...I am thinking about picking one up myself. Or you can watch the flea market section to find you a reel in your price range...
  9. No problems with it at all. I am just redesigning the platform as it was setup for crappie. I'm adding a rear deck, removing the rod locker, and adding a seat mount, moving the passenger seat over and back a few inches etc....I also just bought a 4'x8' sheet of .090 thick 3003 aluminum for trim panels Going be adding some new storage and a bigger live well next year as well.... Instead of conforming and buying a new boat... I am going to conform my boat to fit me... 8-)
  10. :-? Because it is not that hard to do.... I am replacing the carpet and adding a rear deck... So I figured I might as well replace the wood while I'm there. The wood contains mild water damage... I fish rain or shine
  11. yeah I realized that after I made the post...why I added the note... :-[
  12. I actually think YO-ZURI has great abrasion resistance from my experince with the line... It is the one of the main reasons I use it... I tip my braid with a 15lb leader when pike fishing...(Please note that I am not speaking of ultra-soft)
  13. I uprgraded my the spool bearings in my Citica with ABEC 9's and It is amazing... I can cast my light weight cranks a mile in 30 deg weather. IMO there is no need to swap spools. I also upgraded the drive shaft bushing and added a Core handle. ;D I almost bought the Curado but I don't like the Green/gold color and I wanted the 6.3:1 for cranks.. I actually just bought a 2 more NIB Citica's off ebay for $170 shipped... At that price it Leaves me plenty of room for upgrades :-?
  14. I just went through this same dilemma....I decided to go with what was recommended to me here at BR.....The Maxxum 70... It was what I really wanted anyways 8-) And I got Bass Pro to price match Cabela for $699...IMO it is well worth the $200 more than the edge...
  15. I have read a many post recommending not to use treated wood in aluminum Boats because of a bad reaction causing it to ruin the aluminum. Why? I just recently removed the wood from my 2005 Bass Tracker 175Pro Crappie (mfr date 2004). Come to find out the wood I removed is in fact Treated. I found No damage or reactions to the aluminum what so ever after being in there for Six years. I have already bought oak ply and a can of thompson water seal to replace the wood with. Thinking about returning it for treated. :-? Also what carpet would be good replacement?(rubber backing? 16, 20, 24oz...etc...) And where online would be a good place to buy it? I don't want home depot carpet, I think it is too thin and cheap for my liking... When I do something, I try to do it right the first time. Thanks for looking -Marke
  16. Which state has the better/longer Bass fishing conditions/weather year-round? Texas P.S. everyone is just talking sh** ;D...Chill bro, you don't have to be so defensive...
  17. Also...do NOT use any pressure treated wood. It will not react nice with your hull... No treated wood?....The wood I just ripped out of my 2005 Tracker 175 is treated wood.... The hull is just fine...No damage at all...No reaction at all and it was screwed directly to the aluminum framing....It has been in there for 6 years now(mfr date 2004)
  18. Steel will rust....tung and lead don't...
  19. I recommend the Shimano Curado E7 you mentioned strapped to a St. Croix Avid
  20. That's the most absurd thing I have ever heard. Step on the rod or just break it so you can get a new one and expediter is ok but ask for a rep to look at it to determine if it's a defect and then forfiet any right to use the NO QUESTIONS asked policy??? You have got to be kidding???? Is that actually in writing anywhere? I would go on a lifelong negative PR crusade against Loomis if that policy is in ink. I will regret having ever defended Loomis,as I have staunchly defended them for all the years I've been here at BassResource.com if that is the policy. Hey Dan- Since we are not experts in rod breakage, how can he be penalized for asking Loomis to inspect a break to make a warranty decision? Wow... this certainly changes things. well said....
  21. What is the biggest lipped crank you would recommend throwing with the AVC70MM? Also, what is the smallest lipped or lipless crank you would throw with it?
  22. This is really bothering me.... I can't believe Shimano(whom I have heard High praises about their CS)is doing this to a customer, and making up their own rules as they go it seems. > It is indeed a false impression of a "no questions asked xpeditor service". Shimano is asking the question "Have you attempted to have this rod replaced under warranty?" Best of luck to you Rolo
  23. If this is the case, I will not buy any shimano or loomis rods as I was planning too. First off, this has nothing to do with Shimano rods. All of the models from the Clarus on up to the Cumaras already have a no questions asked replacement warranty. Why would this have any impact on whether you bought a Shimano rod or not? It doesn't take much to drive me away from a company... I would not want to put myself in this type of situation... There are alot of Great rod company's to choose from...
  24. Bantam1, You have always been very helpful and I hope I don't offend you with this comment, but that may be the dumbest policy ever. I guess the "ask no questions" in the Xpeditor Service is literal and once you ask a question, you can no longer use the service. It does not speak of this in the warranty? If this is the case, I will not buy any shimano or loomis rods as I was planning too.
  25. Try dipping elaztech in JJ's ;D
