who is tougher?
each trip i go up there, i notice that northern strains fight so so so so so so so much more harder than florida. ive always wondered this. imo, i thought the northern fish we more aggresive to hit a topwater to. but, the pond i was fishing i beleive is untouched, so i cant say it proves anything. but i think northern fight harder

Stable Jon Boat?
mine is a 1452, and me and my freinds would dive off of it this summer at the lakes. so all 3 of us would stand on the edge, and it never even came close to tipping. 36 inches wide is not stable

Redecking a boat
i am just finishing up my new decking on my aluminum boat. i used 23/32 in. sheets of pressure treated plywood, and then treated it with thompsons wood sealer, to protcect it from rot. i think marine plywood is to expensive. for decking i used long peices of 2x4 with "L" brackets drilled in to the bencehs to hold them. it is the sturdiest decking i think we oculd have made. it took a total of 3 4x8 sheets of the plywood

Do you have a lucky piece of clothing ?
i have had some people ask for a peice of the shirt i was wearing when i caught my 14

ahh when winter ends
you can find fish topwater all year. but prime is 50 and above. when the water is under 50 either go real real slow, or go super fast. poppers and spooks work best imo

What are you going focus on in 2006?
the wretchdly awesome c-rig and jig
-
pick and choose
lowrance vmc sure set, or standard trebles
-
Most difficult
it appears myself and half the forum need some serious practice on the c-rig and jig. im settin a goal to have enough confidence in both to throw them in a tourny and cach a fish. i know i can do that with a t-rigged trick worm
-
Most difficult
JIGS AND CAROLINA RIGS
-
Senkos, Texas or Wacky???
i think they both work the same, its just a confidence thing. if you have thrown t-rig the whole time, you look negativly toward wacky, if you have thrown wacky, you look negativly toward t-rig

small water fishing
since i would guess its shallow, i would go with a berkley power float worm, rigged weightless, with a light wire hook. it has to be light wire or else the hook will make it sink. light wire is basically the thickness of the hooks. then, for the color, i would go with pink because it matches any water condition. throw it out and let it sit, then twitch it a few time and let it sit. it will stay about 1-4 ionches under water at all times. i would look for patches of sand in the algae, because this difference in structure will give something bass will relate to all year. work the worm slow, use lighter line, and sneak up on them, because in a pond, i believe footsteps are more easily detected. hope this helps

What do I throw ?
ditto on the jig. black and blue 1/2oz would be my choice. im not good with jigs, but i know big bass love um

HUGE bass problem HELP!!!!!!
heres somethin i have learned when sight fishing or when i see a monster. my heart flutters, and even though i think im making my best presentation, im not. im so anxious i do not fish it like i ussualy would. heres what i would do. i would tie on my favorite baits. ones i know will catch fish. i would walk down to the pond, sit down in a fold out chair, i would not even dare to glance for the fish, i would cast out in unliikely places, and relax and have fun. go there with no intention of catchin fish, but the intention of doin what you love. ive noticed that when i see the big bass, i never catch them, but my monsters all have came when i set down my rod for a second to laugh with my freinds. pretend you dont even know that bass are there. and when you do catch them go IKE!!!!!!!!!
-
Will they still be there?
try a manns baby minus one crank. u should wear them out. also, if you choose to continue with the buzzbait, have a weightless for a follow up on the buzzer. since your missing that many fish, you will be able to catch alot more with that follow up bait. i would suggest a 5-7 inch purple paddletail worm rigged with a 4/0 wide gap with no weight good luck at the tourny

Jig Fishing

One Thing That Makes You Better
i agree with sealand on this one, i have 3 baits in my boxes. rapala dt cranks in 3 colors, all diving depths, spinnerbaits- terminator super stainless in different sizes, blades, colors, and only xoom trick worms for soft plastics in 3 colors. i am going to learn how to fish these lures perfectly by next tourny season so i have confidence in them. those 3 baits will catch any fish anytime. and, it doesnt cost as much cuz im buyin one brand in each category. confidence is everything
