Best heavy action flipping rod under $$$$ 200
Carrot Stix. They retail for $150.00 and are very lightweight for those days that you do nothing but flipping. Also, they are extrememly sensitive for those very light bites.

Gulp Overated?
Great for the saltwater fish. Not so much for the freshwater fish.

6 Total Flounder (Only 2 Pics)
Thanks fella's. I fish at Topsail Beach 99.9% of the time. A keeper flounder for NC is 14" for the beach and 15" or 15.5" (I can't remember which one) for the ICW

Fishing a Big Grass Flat
Lately, I have been having trouble fishing this big grass flat in the link below: (The center of the flat is marked by the "+" symbol) http://mapper.acme.com/?ll=35.59751,-78.96398&z=15&t=T&marker0=35.75000%2C-79.02500%2Cjordan%20lake%20nc It has thick hydrilla about 100 or 200 yards out and the average depth is about 5' or 6'. I've had trouble locating the edge, but I think I have found it a few times and I haven't been able to find the fish in it. Can you guys clue me in on any of your tips for finding fish in this big flat?

Senko Reel/Rod combo
The rod is in better condition than the reel. So far it has lasted about 2 years. Probably could last a few more pending on how much I increase my usage of it.

Unmarked Hazards
There is a mountain of dirt in the Haw River near Jordan Lake that is visible now since we haven't had rain in weeks and 3 cities are using it for water. But when the water level was higher, I saw a few boats get to close for comfort. Nosotros bent our prop on a chimmney of an old house that was barely under water. Caused $2,500.00 worth of damage. Can't really blame them though, the water level was really low.

Senko Reel/Rod combo
Mine is a 6'6" MH spinning rod with a spinning reel (of course :). Don't know the names of the two; got them at Dick's for $10.00. Odd thing is it will probably catch more fish than my high dollar Carrot Stix. :-?

I guess Quantum deserves it rep..
Just exchange the reel for another one. Every reel a company makes can't be perfect. Yes roadwarrior, even Shimano. :

WEC/Zoom crankbait
Forgot to mention that I got Classic color in all three. Seems like a good a color for all water clarities, because at $18.00 a crankbait, you can't go buyin' up all the colors they got.

BEST jig trailer EVER
I have various ones, but the favorites on here are Rage Tails and Netbait Paca Chunks.

Speckle Trout
Catt, those are some great fish, tell your son I said that. One question though, up here on the Carolina coast the Trout fishing gets better when the water cools down a lot. Is that true down there as well?

6 Total Flounder (Only 2 Pics)
Went to the beach this weekend for a little Flounder fishing. Had a pretty good time, with all fish being caught on either live Mud Minnows behind Carolina rigs or a small Berkley paddle-tail swimbait on a jighead. A lil' 8 or 10" Flounder caught on the Berkley paddle-tail swimbait mentioned above This one is 17" also caught on the Berkley paddle-tail swimbait

WEC/Zoom crankbait
Bought mine from www.peepersbaits.com and they seem like very high quality baits. Haven't had the oppurtunity to fish with them much, maybe this weekend. The ones I bought are the Stumpy, Hicky, and the Z4. The Z4 seems kinda light to be a deep diver, but hopefully it will still cast pretty good.

crank rod help
I got a Quantum 7'4" KVD Tour Crankin' Rod and I love it for lipped crankbaits. Although I wouln't use it for ripping grass with lipless crankbaits, because the tip isn't stiff enough. The only problem with E-glass that I have is that it makes the rod kinda heavy, but it shouldn't bother you too much.

Late Fall Pattern Help?
Try the weedlines in the deeper water with a weedless slow-moving plastic.
