My Co-Angler Rod/reel Arsenal
i think you've got the right idea by talking to your boater...and taking what seems best for that day. that is what i do..and based on how he fishes and what lake, determines what i bring. i narrow it down to 5, maybe 6 max. what i usually take... 1) Fenwick Aetos 7ft mh, Citica, 30lb braid. i can use this for jigs, texas rigs, frogs, etc. 2) Pinnacle Perfecta 6' 8" m spinning rod, Pflueger Supreme, 8lb fluoro. shakey head, shallow cranks, wacky, weightless senko, etc. 3) BPS crankin' stick, 7ft mh, BPS proqualifier, 12lb berkley big game, deeper cranks from 8ft to 20ft. maybe spinnerbaits, chatterbaits, etc. 4) Veritas, 7ft mh, Shimano Symetre, 30lb braid, jigs, texas rigs, frogs, etc., buzzbait. 5) Lamiglass 6'6" m spinning rod, Pflueger Supreme, 12lb Tufline Supercast, spinnerbaits, topwater, senkos, crankbaits, there are prob much better setups for each application...and i'm sure i am "crossing the lines" on how i use some of these but i try to have what is versatile and use what i have to be able to switch and still be as effective as i can be. (obviously, i am not opposed to spinning setups... ) i also have these and will switch out depending on partner and/or lake BPS extreme 7ft mh spinning rod, Pflueger President, 30lb braid.. Loomis GLX, 6'6" heavy, BPS PQ, 30lb braid BPS bionic blade spinning rod, 7ft heavy (older rod) Shimano Compre casting rod, 7ft m (a little to whippy for my taste) i have those 2 rods as back ups to swap out as needed. here is an example of a duo-lock i use on occasion..especially for crankbaits. http://www.basspro.com/Bass-Pro-Shops-FastLock-Bass-Snap/product/7816/ hope this helps... it is difficult for us non-baoters to know what to take and then narrow it down, on setups and tackle.. good luck..

My Co-Angler Rod/reel Arsenal
some nice setups.... BUT i would try to narrow it down to 5 i fish as a co-angler in my club..and that is plenty. i use duo lock snaps on a couple setups so i can change quickly...as the boater speeds up or slows down..changes depths, distance from the bank, etc.. (now let the duo lock snap detractors chime in)

Spinning Rod For Frog Fishing
simple answer...is..yes.. as my frog setup.. i have used a MH rod (a Veritas now), Pflueger Supreme and 20-30lb braid for years and had zero problems yes..a BC setup is gonna be said to be "best"...but, it can...and has, been done with a spinning setup with no problems.

Bank Spinning Rod
i started the exact same way as you mention.. 7ft is not "too much"..but in tight quarters i used a 6 1/2 ft. and didn't feel like i was "missing" anything. for reels...i would definitley recommend a Pflueger President (can be bought for $60, max) and then you have close to a $100 for a rod. you can get any number of good rods for $100. i would go with a MH. it is much more versatile....especially in the long run.. as for length. 6 1/2 or 7ft..whichever you prefer. do you have a Bass Pro or a Dick's close to you?

Anyone Not Have Success Or Dramatically Less Success With A Certain Senko Color?
you can't go wrong with green pumpkin w/blk, watermelon w/blk, black w/blue. in the colors TW offers in bulk the color i have the most luck with (because i use it the most) is pumpkin w/black and green flake.. i like the orange(ish) color with the green flake...a good bluegill imitator.. imo..

Congrats To The Spurs
congrats to the Spurs (and a classy move by Dwight to start the thread) the Heat were "tired" really? lame excuse.. they were lucky to win it last year...down by 5 with what? 23 seconds left..and pull it out. Spurs won't make any hi-lite reel...but they sure are fun to watch play

Should I Use Backing For Braid On A Spinning Reel?
i'll use some cheap or old mono for backing....so i only have about 75 yards max on the spool. that way i can get at least a couple spools worth out of each box of braid.
-
Norman Cranks

Anyone Modify Their Zara Spook/kvd Sexy Dawgs: Remove Front Treble?
i don't own a sexy dog... so i can't say. but i do replace the hooks on the SK KVD 1.5,2.5, 3xd and red eye shads... but the jerkbait, 5xd and 6xd seems to have pretty good hooks.. ??

Anyone Modify Their Zara Spook/kvd Sexy Dawgs: Remove Front Treble?
i wouldn't remove the hook...but i would definitley change the hooks on the Spook...notoriously terrible hooks..

Keitech Fat 3.8
