  1. Not sure what state you are in but in the following states it is not legal for merchants to add surcharges to any credit card transactions: CA, CO, CT, FL, KS, MA, ME, NY, OK, and TX. In addition, most card holders prohibit this as well. There are exemptions (including some government agencies), but here is what I understand to be the rules for most situations: A convenience fee cannot be assessed in a face-to-face environment A convenience fee cannot be assessed for recurring payments. The convenience fee was designed for one-time payments and not for payments in which a cardholder allows his credit card to be periodically charged for recurring goods or services. Examples of recurring charges include, but are not limited to, insurance premiums, subscriptions, Internet service provider monthly fees, membership dues, and utility charges. The merchant must provide a true convenience in the form of an alternative payment channel outside the merchant's customary face-to-face payment channels, and the fee must be disclosed by the merchant to the cardholder as a charge for the alternative payment channel convenience that is provided. The convenience fee must be disclosed prior to the completion of the transaction, and the cardholder must be given the option to cancel the transaction if not wanting to pay the fee. The convenience fee must be included in the total amount of the transaction; it cannot be split out from the transaction amount. If a convenience fee is assessed it must be for all payments (V, MC, Discover, AMEX, ACH, Check) within a particular payment channel (mail, phone, internet). Since all convenience fees are required to be assessed equally, a merchant who accepts Visa is restricted to a flat convenience fee for all cards. Theses rules may or may not apply to your situation, and I am no expert on these regulations. This is just info I have have gathered from family members who work with credit card companies and from my own research. If you really want to pursue it your best bet would be to contact your card holder.
  2. I am bringing my boat, and will have a spot open.
  3. Only having very minimal experience with Raystown (ie. only been fishing there once), I am pretty neutral on launch location. I have a friend they may come with me, but if he decides not to, I will have a spot available on my boat. I will let you know shortly.
  4. Mine is my nickname based on the 1st letters of my last name. I normally spell it Wallz, but that was taken. When I was about 8 years old it actually started out as Wally. I had a friend who liked to draw, and 1 day he drew an alligator and called it Wally Gator. Said he named it after me. So that became my nickname for awhile. As I got older everyone just started calling me Wallz. So, to all my longtime friends I have been Wallz for almost 20 yrs.
  5. Blue Marsh is an option, but being that is one of the only unlimited HP lakes is the area I have heard it gets pretty crowded during the summer. So much so that if you don't get there before 6am you may be waiting several hours just to launch your boat.
  6. To that area of Raystown would probably about 2hrs or so for me. I would be willing, and could maybe swing an over nighter if need be. I was actually just up there this past weekend, but at the far southern end of the lake. Took me about 2 1/2 hrs to get there going the turnpike. I was camping with family and really didn't get much time to just fish. We were down past mile marker 28 in the no wake area. I managed a couple largemouth and a catfish in only a few hours of fishing. The water was really muddy down that way, and I would have probably done better if I had had the time to search up the lake a bit further.
  7. Susky might be too swift for us electric guys I think boatnic mapped Redman and Williams both... I know he just did Walker too, but that would be a hike for you guys. Yeah, the Susky would be tough with just electric around this area. When its low it can be tough with anything though. Those rocks can be brutal. Walker is about 1 1/2 hrs for me. I would be willing to travel that distance.
  8. I would be interested. It would most likely need to be on the weekend for me as well. I live in Grantville (just N of Harrisburg). I can bring my boat (G3 1652CC, 60/40 jet). Location does not matter too much to me. I am up for wherever. The only thing would be if any of the electric only lakes require that gas motors be removed. Not sure if any are like that, but I probably wouldn't bring my boat then.
  9. Put my vote in for ya. Good Luck!
  10. Thanks. I will check it out.
  11. I am going on a family vacation next month to the Outer Banks, NC. We have rented a house on the beach in Duck for a week and would like to do some fishing with my Dad while we are down there. Does anyone have any recommendations for some inshore charter services? I may also want to try some surf fishing on my own if you have suggestions on where and what to use for that as well. Thanks
  12. Run a spyware/malware detection program (ex. Adaware) if you have not already done that. These types of things can hog up alot of memory and do some other nefarious things. You can stop some processes to free up memory, but unless you disable them they will come back on next time you reboot. Check out this website http://www.blackviper.com/ for suggestions on Windows services that can be disabled and directions on how to do it.
  13. Never did it from a kayak but have done some informal tournaments with friends and family using the honor system when some people don't have livewells. What we did was weigh (check beforehand to see if everyone's scales are close) and take a picture of each fish. If you wanted to make it easier you could skip the weights and just go by totoal number of keepers. Really with something like this you can make the rules whatever you want. If you are worried about some people not following the honor system you could make 2 man teams and have everyone fish in pairs with someone from another team.
  14. This is quite common for me. Atleast this year anyway. I have probably caught 30+ cats on Rooster Tails this year including one day were I caught 10. They really seem to like the vibric version. There have been days were I see guys targeting cats on the bottom getting skunked and I have them taking Rooster Tails 6" from the surface.
  15. Per this chart http://www.marineengine.com/mfr/mercury_models.html it is a 1982.
  16. I would agree with that estimate. My Dad caught one a few weeks ago that was spawned out and also 21.5". That one weighed 4lb 2oz.
  17. I like Irfanview as well. It has a batch feature that allows you to resize multiple pictures at once.
  18. Same happened to my Dad. If you have the receipt they should let you exchange it.
  19. I use 1/8 or 1/4oz when smallmouth fishing and the same will work for LMB, but as others said it is unusual to catch any of size. However, you will catch pretty much anything that swims. My Dad actually caught a huge carp on one last week, and this past weekend I caught 11 channel cats on the river using a 1/4oz vibric Rooster Tail. None of the cats were real big, but were fun to catch. About a month ago I lost a nice size musky on the same type.
  20. They do look very similar. I know some people mistakenly refer to fallfish as chubs too. Their scientific name is Semotilus corporalis . I have caught some decent sized fallfish in the Susquehanna River. I don't think PA keeps records for them, but the NY state record is 3lbs 9oz. http://www.nyoutdoornews.com/articles/2009/06/04/top_news/news02.txt Edit: I usually catch them on small inline spinners.
  21. I have not used lizard type plastics in quite awhile, but just recently got some *** Disc Lizards and Bush Bugs. This past weekend I was at a local pond and they were not really biting on the worms, As soon as I switched to the Bush Bugs I started catching them. Also caught a few on the Disc Lizard. It could have just been a timing thing, but I will definitely be trying them more.
  22. Lately on the river the 'others' have been walleye, and catfish. The walleye are usually pretty small, but I still enjoy catching them. I really don't mind the catfish as they sometimes put up quite a good fight. The pond that I fish usually produces scores of bluegills, crappie, and some red ears. Those are quite fun as well. This pond has some huge ones. The largest so far has been a 14" crappie.
  23. I have been fishing the stretch just below TMI in the Falmouth/Bainbridge area (just below Royalton) and have been doin' pretty well. Most productive baits have been Storm Wildeye shad swimbaits, twin tail grubs, and Vibric Rooster Tails in the green frog pattern. Most have come on the Rooster Tail. We have been catching a bunch of walleye and catfish on them as well. I will probably be out there this weekend as well. If you see 2 guys in a 16' Express with a 20hp Merc jet give a wave.
  24. That made me laugh. Anyway, I never broke a rod fishing yet, but I did break one of my Dad's rods a few weeks by accident. We were fishing at a private pond in a small 12ft jon. We had finished fishing and I jumped ashore and started to pull the boat up the bank a bit. We had a cooler on the middle seat that we were using as a live well to transplant some fish to another private pond. Well, of course as I pulled the boat it slid off the seat, hit my Dad in the leg, rolled over and snapped his rod. Luckily none of the fish were injured and all were released safe and sound. He was also able to exchange his rod at BPS for a new one.
  25. Welcome! I live just a few minutes from Harrisburg. Do most of my fishing in the river around the area.
