A couple trips ago while at the bend I tried some thing different; Texas Rigged a Stanley Bull Ribbit with a 3/16 oz weight, it results weren't that impressive only four bass. All in the 3 ½ to 4 lb range A few of my buddies have put them to the test as well pulling off a Dog Fight win last weekend with 5 bass 27.11 lbs.

I've used the baby paca craw with a spot remover jig with excellent result but yesterday I ran across the paca craw the larger ones now that size will produce me a hawg or two.

What you want to accomplish in cold water is a slower drop rate along with a bulkier profile which can be accomplished with larger jigs, double skirts, and bulkier trailers. Lighter weight jigs will produce a slow rate of fall but is limited in the amount of bulkiness that can be achieved because of their overall size. This is not to say small jigs will not produce; it says to experiment with your jigs till you learn how to accomplish the fall rate you desire.

I throw an Oldham's Lures Trailer Hitch Jig, 3/8-1/2 oz. regardless of season, water depth, or cover. If I want to change the rate of fall I simply increase or decrease the size of my trailer because I believe a larger profile jig will produce larger bass. In the rare instances that call far a small jig I opt for a Bitsy Bug Flip but no lighter than ¼ oz. with a larger than most trailer.

So when the ecosystem gets out of balance what would you suggest? And when did a coyote become a dog? Hurricane Rita destroyed many of my friend's herds of cattle and after finally getting their lively hood back y'all would suggest letting an over population of ecosystem friendly coyotes have a free meal. Yelp makes total sense to me : Some of us who consider ourselves to be sportsmen and conservationists on this website need a class in conservation so they can truly understand how the ecosystem really works. It's like telling someone they are not a true sportsman because they eat bass, selective harvesting when done under proper controls is a good thing for the environment regardless of if you eat the wildlife or not.

My first boat was a home built wooden hull with an Evinrude 7.5 hp; my first bass boat was a Lowe Line Hustler stick steer Evinrude 70 hp, Evinrude 18 pound thrust trolling motor, & a Hummingbird Super 30 Flasher.

What different size trailers either pork or plastic do is they will change the fall rate which is a good thing. #18 Uncle Josh Mini Trailer is 1 1/2 x 3/4 which is an ideal suit for a 1/4 5/16 oz jig; another ideal match for a 1/4 - 5/16 oz jig is the Kicker Frog at 2 1/2 x 5/8.

In all actuality this is an off year because I have been on the water less than any year I can remember but I have caught more 10 lbs + bass than ever. On most Texas lakes if you aint averaging 5 bass stringers in the mid to upper 20's you aint even in the money. You think this is impressive have a look at Matt Fly's yearly average or some of my buddies, I aint even in the top 10.

And who said fall was far small bass?
