  1. Shrink Wrap instead of electrical tape On a fiberglass boat I run the wire of the big foot behind the gunnels so no wire is on the deck & I wire it directly to the female plug.

  7. After I dropped Carol off at work this morning at 6:00 am I headed for Lacassine Wildlife Refuge; the road going into the marsh is about 5 miles of gravel with about 3 or 4 simple turns with the last one being close to 90 degrees. The road is maybe 10 yards wide built on a levee with canals on both side of the road and if not canals it's marsh. Well the speed limit is 25 mph but this Coonass usually sets the cruise control on 30 which is not a problem since I've driven these roads thousands of times. So as I'm making the final turn the back of my truck hits some loose gravel putting it into a skid with the front end headed towards the marsh. I'm thinking this aint good so I let off cruise and turn the wheel which now has the back end trying to pass the front end. Now I'm headed straight towards a canal thinking Sh _ _ this aint that great either, so again with the steering wheel and again we be headed towards the marsh. This time I tap the brakes cut the wheel sliding sideways in the road and come to a stop, now I'm thinking dam_ should I go fishing or go home?
  8. Sound like you're on target to me
  9. I use a weightless Texas rigged 6-12 worm & just work it slowly on top like you would a frog pausing it when you pull over a pad. Some times I just reel it steadily just under the surface letting the tail do it's job.

  12. 1. Texas: Toledo Bend Reservoir 2. 20 to 25 bass per 10 hours 3. Over 35 years I've averaged 11 keepers (14 minimum) per day with a 3 lb average plus at least one 6 lb+ kicker. 4. Average length is 12 to 20 5. 12 lbs 8 oz, 11 lbs 3 oz., plus 4 over 10 lbs
  13. Along the Louisiana Gulf Coast the saltwater industry has doubled & it's all huge center console rigs. Hurricane Rita pumped millions of gallons of saltwater into the brackish marshes, the first year every thing was dead but since then the shrimp have returned to spawn in greater numbers than anyone can remember. The Speckle Trout & Red fishing is unbelievable and the duck hunting rivals that of the 30s/40s.

  22. To quote our own Bass Professor: A widely held misconception is that big bass feed only at night, or at dawn and dusk. This is simply untrue; in fact, you are very likely to find large fish feeding during the middle of the day. Lunker bass can only grow bigger by feeding more often and eating more than other fish. They are more in step with the ecosystem, and have to be, in order to be first in line. They are the first to respond to such circumstances as the cloud cover before an approaching storm, the migration of shad to and from open water (usually occurring during mid-morning and mid-afternoon), or even the daily and monthly effect of the moon.
