What gives...
Live shiners are the way to go down here in South Fla. If you can't catch something with a shiner, you're doing something wrong or theres no fish in the area.

Who do you want to win the Classic?
Haha im surprised u didnt vote for dean rojas Mr. I love me some topwater frogging Never thrown a Spro frog in my life I've got a couple in my box, I just never throw them for some reason. I just enjoy watching Ike's antics when he lands a fish. I mean the dude breakdanced on the front deck of a bass boat for gods sake. I think he might poo himself if he actually wins.

Ike. But KVD or Skeet Reese would be who I'd bet on if I were a betting man.

So thats what a Civic looks like with a nose job... Sorry to hear it man. Nothing worse than wrecking your ride. (At least I think thats an Civic. First thought IS300, but the rear doesn't look quite right to me.)- MegaStrike Scent
Oh shaddap. Watching Chumlee get messed with is pretty d**n funny. But I'll probably place an order tonight or tomorrow. Whats the best way to order, phone or the website?- MegaStrike Scent
You know, I'm really going to have to break down and buy some of this stuff. I keep hearing how great it is from everybody. That pebble story from Bobby may have sealed it for me. How long is the shelf life on Megastrike, I don't get to fish a lot anymore, but buying one tube then the shipping makes it a little more pricey. Although I'll probably pick up some of the shake-02 heads at the same time.- Which Gear Ratio for 10' plus cranking - 5.2:1 or 4.7:1??
That's what I am hoping for. You know whats bad. I have no patience. I bought a new PQ yesterday at BPS instead of waiting another month...- Holy Crap...
Dunno. No TV crews were out there when I took off, but the cops made sure they got all of my personal info along with the regular statement. So it's possible...- Holy Crap...
I was out with the my daughters buying some clothes and saw a huge accident on Dykes road down by me. A van hit two other cars, jumped a median, then launched into a lake. Needless to say I jumped into some freezing *** water, pulled her out, and swam back to shore. The worst part....she begged me and the guy that helped me to get her stuff out of her car for her as it's sinking to the bottom. She did manage to grab her purse and her phone, typical woman....- lox on 1-24
One of these days I need to make the time to go out to Lox and check it out. Never fished it before.- First Swimmin Fluke Fish
Nice fish. I was actually looking for some of those flukes earlier today. Hopefully they get on the shelves down here soon.- Worst time hooking yourself
Let me start by saying I've never hooked myself thankfully. I've been hooked a few times by my daughters, nothing major thankfully. The one thing that stands out in my mind was one day trolling offshore. My boat and a friends boat a few miles away. We were working a long weedline and working several large schools of dolphin while making our way back towards each other. As we were picking up our lines we get a call on the radio saying they needed help badly. So we drag the rest of our gear in and haul butt over to the other boat where we see my friends dad with a 8/0 or 9/0 hook lodged into his chin. Apparently they got into a small blue marlin that was crusing along the weeds and as they got him near the transom the fish spooked and threw the lure. Hit him right in the face. Had to drive back roughly 30 miles to the docks, then another half hour 45 minutes to the hospital to get the shank cut. Then they had to go in surgically to remove the rest of the hook. They took a few hours because they were worried about nerve damage to the face, etc etc. Needless to say that ruined a really good day fishing.- Zoom Speed Worms
Thats an interesting looking bait. I may have to try that modified fluke one of these days.- Can someone school me on Paddletail worms?
Agree 100%. The 8 inch Gamblers are great. I actually need to pick up another bag or two. All I've got left are Junebug I believe...- Can someone school me on Paddletail worms?
Sometimes I'll tear the paddle a bit (think zoom ultravibe speed worms) and use them as a topwater bat. Otherwise a t-rig weighted or weightless.- Another few thousand words on catching
Heck if I know, but it's got one monstrously long tail on it...- Soft Plastic Swimbait
Thanks for the suggestions guys. I do have a couple bags of swimmin senkos in my bag and have had some success with them. For a pair of 6 year olds they aren't necessarily as durable a bait as young kids need. Nick, I plan on picking up a few packs of swimming flukes as soon as I can get them. That Huddleston minnow in the AYU pattern looks great. I'll probably grab a couple of those. I may also pick up some of those Berkley Hollow-Bellys.- Soft Plastic Swimbait
So as I get ready to really start fishing again I'm looking to use some more swimbaits this year. I would prefer to use soft plastics just because I can bury the hook in the back and make it a mostly weedless rig. What baits would you guys recommend that looks similar to a Golden Shiner. They are killer live baits down here, and I need something that my daughters can use. Live shiners get expensive after a while...- Soft Plastic Frogs?
Love me some soft plastic frogs. Zoom Toads, Gambler Cane Toads, Rage Shad (technically not a toad, who cares), some local hand pours, etc etc. For the most part I use a 4/0 Twist Lock, occasionally a 5/0.- KVD line & lure
Don't quote me on it, but I believe the bottle says something along the lines of the best time to use it is when you first spool. It was either that, or on some show I caught it on. That being said, I've sprayed it on freshly spooled reels and let it dry overnight like the directions suggest. You can just spray it on while fishing as well. I love this stuff, I'll probably pick up another bottle or two when I re-spool all my saltwater gear.- After a year and a half wait, Frogzilla is complete.
mmmm....fishing porn.. Sweet looking rod.- Shaw's soft plastics.
Wish I had a Dick's closer to me. Closest one is over 50 miles away- Professions???
