Good info right there. I'm in the crew that uses mono backing. Theres no need to completely fill a reel with braid for bass fishing. I usually fill around 1/3 of the spool and then stick the braid on top.

Those would be the correct size. You may want to try out heat shrink though. It's far more effective than the o-rings.

Depends on what you're looking for. Youtube has a large selection of bass fishing videos. You may have to do some searching to find what you want, but they're there. Check Vimeo also. My Outdoor TV has full shows recorded to watch online if you're looking for complete shows. FLW Outdoors also has a bunch of video on their website.

This really is a great time of year down here. Fish are active all over the place. I'm hoping to get out offshore sometime in the next week if the weather cooperates. I've been hearing some good reports from down south outside of Fowey Rocks Light.

Whenever I decide to get another dog it will probably be another Doberman. I've had two already and absolutely loved them. Such a fantastic family animal. If not a Dobie, another Basset Hound. I love those goofy lookin dogs. A third that I'd love is an English Bulldog. I've never owned one, but they just look so cool. I've heard some horror stories with skin problems because of the amount of skin folds around the face though.

I initially tried it with Vicious fluoro. That stuff was awful. Broke no matter what. I lost a lot of tungsten using that junk. Changed brands and I was in business.

Dirty jigs makes an awesome swim jig. They're a little bit on the pricey side, but worth it.

I generally use 30 or 40 pound braid tied to either 12 or 14 pound fluoro. 5 wraps each way (10 total) has never failed me. I've also done it plenty of times with 20 pound braid and 12lb fluoro for my drop shot rod. Never had a problem with that. You've got to make sure you tie the knot properly though.I've used the same knot offshore with larger line, just giving it a few more wraps. Take your time when you cinch it down so the wraps all lay in next to each other properly. Like mentioned, you need to have the tag end of the line your wrapping with exit in same way as the standing end. It will fail if you finish it in the opposite direction. If you tie it right you can clip the tag ends all the way down to the knot.

Tell you guys what. For those of you who can't fish during the winter, send me all of your stuff. I'll make sure it gets used on a regular basis. Think of the plight of the poor winter fishing gear. It needs to be used! I mean, it could get lonely being left untouched for a while.

Never going to happen again. IW is suing Activision right now for a lot of money owed, working conditions, etc etc. They've parted ways. IW is working on their own projects now. If you go off of their track record, whatever IW comes out with should be a solid game.

The sniping is harder? Come on now. The hit detection with sniper rifles is just sad. It's like theres a box around a person the size of a refrigerator. If you get inside that box you're scoring a hit. Some of the headshots I've seen haven't even been close to having the sights on.
