Update on the story of the dude. I think he was BS'ing and just poaching fish. Came back the next day and here he comes rolling up with 3 dudes, no licenses. Pulling out fish after fish and keeping them small and large (a few too small). Its one thing to need the things. Its another to lie and not follow the rules for the hell of it. He said he wasn't worried since the fish and game guys cant search his car, and he wanted to BBQ later. I made a call to the office near where this canal is (the office is literally 200 ft from this spot). I told them what hes driving and what time he shows up. The fishing has suffered around here and this stuff ticks me off.

The area left of the overhanging tree is where I got em in some rocks. 8lb test on my finesse rod/reel it was a great fight. (Now you can see how small the area is)

Well today the wind finally died down enough to throw a line. I tied on a texas rigged pearl fluke and had a couple strikes, but no hookup. I decided to try a different color which I think is oklahoma shad? Hooked into this sucker my second cast! I wanted to throw him back so bad since the spot is a small Weir in a narrow canal and I never keep fish. But a man was there with his girlfriend and begged me for the fish saying he needed to eat and pointed to his truck saying he was kicked out of his house etc. So I handed it over. Thought id share.

Should have tazed the idiot. Then we could REALLY see it shake.

This is the spot I do alot of fishing right now. I am standing on a spillway where its pretty fast moving with overhanging trees. You can see where the real chunky rock ends and it turns into more of a mix of rock and dirt banks. This small area is the rockiest on the bottom with pretty stained water. Not sure if this would change anything.

Hey guys. I have never really fished a jig and know very little about the different kinds of jig styles. The spots I fish are very pressured and I never see anyone throwing one...I see crawfish in the water so I want to try it out. I was wondering if someone can recommend me plain jane jig setup so I can try it out. (color/jighead/weight). The small canal I fish has a rocky bottom along with some rocky sides in some areas kinda like chunked up concrete. I wouldn't even know where to start...football...finessee...swim. No clue lol. Any help would be cool!

It was either pay more for this school (financial aid) or go to community college. I just didnt feel community college would give me the same quality as this school.

Hey guys. I have a huge interest in learning to weld. I have been considering trying to join the local Union and do the apprenticeship route. On the other hand there is a dedicated welding school near by that gets really good reviews. I know ZILCH about unions and have been gettin two different stories from friends (some say it sucks and some love the crap out of it). I was told layoffs are a common occurrence and the benifits suck. I'd just like more pros and cons. I was under the impression of "if you want job security, go union". (unitl I was told about the layoffs)
