If your day was ruined because you lost an expensive lure don't use them , because if you fish a lot , you're going to loose a lot more.

I think it's a personal choice , buy the reel that fits your needs.

You might consider building a front deck for your bow mounted trolling motor then get yourself a 55# thrust motor.
