That's the only lake you can find to fish on ? The fish are probably out in the deeper water. Try a carolina rig and cast as far out into the lake that you can and see what happens. You've got to find more lakes to fish.

Unless there are regulations about not catching certain breeds of carp like grass carp , you have no right to say anything to them. I know that sucks but they have rights also.

Why would you need a sensitive rod for cranking ? That's not the rod you want for carolina rigging.

All reels should be taken completely apart and cleaned. Spinning reels have more small parts and should be done by a professional.
