I concur with you 100% , these two changes affected the game way too much for me.

The 162 game schedule is what makes baseball so unique. It definately seperates the pretenders from the contenders. I personelly think the wild-card is good for the game , it gives two extra teams hope and keeps people interested longer. Let's keep it real though and not add anymore teams to the play-offs as it would water it down too much like basketball.
