Buy what they call a muskie cradle. It has basically 2 long poles and materal attached that you can slip under the fish while still in the water . It contains the fish and you never have to take it out of the water. I believe cabelas or bps sells them.

Rooster save up some money and get the rod . It will be worth the wait.

I'm not a baitcaster guy but you learn to throw baits with one , you'll throw that spin caster in the trash.

Some people are hard to fish with . If they are family , it's easier to accept to a point and if they aren't family , they can fish by themselves.
