  1. I'm a revo fan! I have the winch and love it
  2. Well I was leaning towards the Duckett ghost 7' 3" mh, but I hear that their rated different. Like a heavy is more like a typical MH and a MH is more like a medium. Anyone experience this also?
  3. I love my veritas rods. I have three and a buddy has a couple. Never any issues. 7' MH micro guide!
  4. I have 3 7' MH veritas rods already. They just dont have the backbone for jigs or deeper water that I'd like to have
  5. Thanks i have not heard this before
  6. I don't want to lose too much sensitivity but I want a for sure hook set. So I don't know which rod to choose 7' 3" MH or 7' H???
  7. The biggest jig I throw is a 1/2 but it is mainly 3/8 oz. same with my t-rigs. The cover I fish is usually pretty well light to moderate. Not really many lakes with a ton of heavy cover. Is a heavy powered rod too much?
  8. I always fish really clear water so the heaviest weights/jigs I own are 3/8oz. That's what has me torn. I'm not into jig fishing as much as other techniques but I think part of the reason is that my 7' MH rods don't seem to have the backbone for a good hook set. You think that if I were to go with like a 7' 6" MH it'd be a fair compromise? To where it would give me a little more power without sacrificing the sensitivity?
  9. Alright I have decided to get one of the duckett ghost rods. Seem like a great rod for the price that they are listed at. However I need a little advice. I have never used a duckett rod and do not know how stuff they are compared to others. For Texas rigging with a bullet weight I use a medium heavy veritas. For senkos I use a medium heavy veritas. I would like to have a jig rod and I know the 7' 3" heavy would be great for when I fish jigs. Do you guys like to use something in the 7'3" heavy for t-rigging craws etc? Or is it too stiff and you lose too much sensitivity? I'm just unsure on what to do...
  10. I have revo gen3 reels. 2-premiers 1-winch 1-sx and have never had an issue with any "back play."
  11. I was just wondering if anyone has used one of these rods? I can get them for $100 now instead of $150. I have a couple of the veritas and really like them. I have also found the Duckett Ghost rods for $100 as well. Any feedback would be appreciated
  12. ^^^X2. However for year round results personally if say option two. Of course I'd feel like I lost an arm if I couldn't do all of the above
  13. Yes I looked online an found both of those rods for $100 and free shipping. At my local sporting goods store they are $150 of course. Their usually really competitive...
  14. I have several MH 7' rods. I just don't feel like they have enough backbone to set a hook like I would like
  15. I was looking at the veritas and they have a 7' 11" heavy rod. Do you think that this is just too much rod. Would I be better with a rod that is 7' 6" or even shorter?
  16. I have never used a duckett but I have held them. They seem like great rods. Definitely something I would consider but with buying 3 revos and 4 rods already this year now I find myself on a budget. I will check it out though
  17. There are tons of options on rods and a lot of that is going to come down to personal preference. Me personally, I am a big abu garcia guy. So maybe trying one of their rods in a heavy action. Like the veritas. However I am also a fan of the wright& McGill rods. Their lure specific rods usually meet my needs and style of fishing flawlessly. As far as reels I would say that the sx is a good one. I have one myself but do not use it a ton because I usually throw my revo premiers as my revo winch. IMO if it says revo, it's golden
  18. Yes I own 3 of the veritas rods and I own two of the wright&mcgill rods. I love both of them. That's y I am so torn between what to do
  19. Alright I would like to throw a rod that is dedicated to just jigs and I'd like to stay around $100 or less. I mainly throw 1/2oz or 3/8 jigs. I was considering either the 7' 3" H abu garcia veritas or the skeet reese jig rod. What do you all think? Thanks!
  20. I am an huge abu garcia fan. I personally use an abu garcia revo winch. Very smooth but I don't know how you'll make that into a $100 budget. Get what you pay for!
  21. Pretty much on board with most... Strike king XD series and you'll want bright colors. I fish a lake close to home with muddy water and no matter what time of year I can pull em in with a red/ black stripe crank. Other than that go bright. Fire tiger etc.
  22. If it is the one I think it is it is the same color I throw a lot. Except I throw yum dingers. It's called watermelon pearl laminate. I have more success with them here in SE MO when the water gets over 80 degrees. They will out fish any other color I own. Worked great a couple of weeks ago on a river trip with one of my fishing buddies though
  23. I am going there today. If you have a nicer boat i wouldn't launch at enough ramp. I used to launch my '01 tracker there but I'm not taking my ranger there.
