  1. I am also from Farmington. If your afraid of banging up your prop then you do not want to launch on the enough ramp. You want the main ramp off of DD hwy. there is no way I would drive all the way from St. Louis to fish council bluff though. It's a beautiful lake but like Brad said there is not much size to be offered. I took second place and won big bass in a tournament there just because we caught one over 2lbs. It is a no wake lake but the enough arm of that lake is full of trees!!! It'd b worth the drive to go a little farther!
  2. I fish water like that all the time. For years all I had a choice to fish was really stained or completely muddy water. Then after acquiring a lake lot on a big lake development here in SE Missouri I was blindsided like you. However now, I love it. It's all about presentation. If you go out as the water warms up and throw a t-rigged senko style bait in a natural color.... Be ready to hold on. My personal favorite is watermelon pearl laminate. Also stick to jigs. But not black and blue. Go with watermelon red or pumpkin. Keep em small too. Either 1/4oz or go with a 3/8 finesse jig (I think war eagle makes a great one) this will atleast help you locate the fish. If your dealing with wind always go to a spinnerbait. Look for the fish holding to lay downs or drop offs. They love them for cover!
  3. I only use a t-bar snap when crank baiting. The right size can not only allow you to switch cranks quickly but give your cranks a little more wobble and action. Other than that... Always tie directly to bait. No questions asked
  4. I'm not a crankbait expert by any means but I can hold my own. Using electronics to find the fish is more important than just about anything. I typically am not a strike king fan but for clearer water I have the most success with the kvd strike king cranks. From the 1.5 to the 5xd. In murky/dark water I like a loud bandit crank to get that extra needed vibration.
