  1. I have so much confidence in green pumpkin I never rule it out. June bug is another color you really can throw anywhere. Let the fish tell you what to throw on a given day.
  2. Which swimbaits do you guys prefer for Alabama Rigs?
  3. I use snaps on my mid-deep cranks as well. How long of a leader do you use? I’ve done this with leaders of 15-20’ before
  4. Are you using braid as a main line to hybrid leader?
  5. I was just considering giving it a try as a cost saving technique to see how the two compared since they were moving baits that got reaction strikes and the fish wouldn’t have time to study the bait. I will still use Seaguar Invizx and Abrazx on several of my rods. Jerkbait rods, senko rod, spinning and leaders on my 7 braid rods. Just looking for experience from others...
  6. Do you mean from Seaguar to Yo Zuri, or pound test?
  7. So I know there have already been multiple threads on this in the past but I have a few questions. I have always used Seaguar Invizx on my cranking rods and spinnerbait rod. I’m thinking about switching to a copolymer like YZH. Going off of line diameter maybe a 10# test? Or maybe 8#? What do you all think? And how would you compare YZH to the Hi-Seas Grand Slam copoly? I typically ran 10# on cranks and 12# on spinnerbaits.
  8. Vanish is terrible. I use two different kinds of flouro. Seaguar Invizx if I want to throw something with trebles because of the stretch it has. I also use it on my senko rod. The other is Seaguar Abrazx. It’s very abrasion resistant and great for single hook baits with barely any stretch to it. I also use the Abrazx as a leader when need be on my 5 or 6 rods that have braid.
  9. Every Walmart carries different items. If there is another one close to you they might. I run into that a lot where I live.
  10. Anyone have a Bass Pro branded item they prefer. Frog, lipless, cranks? Ive bought the XPS squarebill before and it looks like a Strike King 1.5 clone. Any experiences that say not to save a buck on some items?
  11. I just had the same thing with some spro frogs. Great ideas on how to prevent it but I’m with the op, any way to fix it without buying new skirts?
  12. I’m really leaning towards 30lb braid to 15lb flouro for all three mentioned and maybe just remove the leader in really stained water.
  13. For these applications do you ever just direct tie the braid?
  14. Well the reason I like the braid is I always get hung with lipless and with braid I can get them back...
  15. I have played around with a few different lines but what are you guys using for swimjigs, lipless cranks, and chatterbais? These are fished on different rods so 3 different types is ok. I prefer straight 30 pound braid but what do you think? I fish really clear water to muddy...
  16. I am a fan of the dedicated crank rod. But this varies for me on what type. Shallow/square bills I like a graphite medium/fast. Lipless, graphite medium heavy. Mid-deep divers I am on my third one. Still trying to find that balance of castability and hookset forgiveness. My first rod was glass but it was bulky and heavy and just too whippy. Then a graphite Winch series rod 7’ medium moderate. Which I liked but loaded up too much. Then I went to a 7’ medium/fast and it was my favorite so far. But I just bought an Ike signature rod that is glass. Going to see if the rod has that parabolic bend I like to cast/fight fish. Haven’t been on the water yet but with just holding it I think it might be my happy medium.
  17. I love this line for moving baits. Spinner bait rod, crank rod, square bill rod, and both jerkbait rods. Not a fan of it for jigs/T-rigs. Too much stretch. For those types of baits I use either braid or braid to Seaguar Abrazx leader.
  18. I see a lot of people struggle with this and if it’s smaller fish I get it. But most people’s problem is setting the hook too soon. Let em’ eat it for a couple seconds
  19. Does the HI-Seas Grand Slam float or sink?
  20. I agree with this. You ever have any durability issues like I’ve heard before about the pad crashers? I know my KVD sexy frogs have been through hell and back and still fish like new.
  21. Been there plenty of times. I just recently purchased some VMC flipping hooks and I love them. Always been a gamakatsu guy but I now have several different kinds of vmc. Spinshot, ewg, etc. I love them.
  22. Then don’t ever borrow a megabass to try. If they were only $15 I’d buy them all day...
  23. The softer body was the reason I liked the KVD frogs better. Had a better hookup ratio and I feel that this played a part. It sounds like I need to invest in a couple pad crashers
  24. Is the pad crashed so popular because of the price point? I just feel like there are other frogs that look/feel better. Haven’t thrown a pad crashed yet. Love the hookup ratio on a sexy frog and how well it walks but I’m open to trying.
