  1. If u havn't created any you dont know what you are missing out on, i have over 60 spots on t-bend and they all hold bass, the remarkable thing is how fast bass will be drawn to this cover, it does not take very long at all. I know several tourament fisherman on rayburn and they pound similiar spots like mine and really do well off of them. U would be suprised how many tourny fisherman do this and keep these spots top secret. U should absolutely do the same asap and u will have the exact same results. start sinkin and tell us how your luck changes, I would really like to know!! PS: FIND A SPOT THAT IS YOUR OWN AND DONT TELL ANYONE. And if anyone considers this cheating then half the fisherman on rayburn cheat. I believe is just like a artificial reef in the ocean, it provides cover, a food source, and when it comes down to it those bass wont hook themselves, you still have to be on your game and figure out the bite and then deliver. they wont just jump in your boat, I say go for it !!!
  2. Just wondering how many fisherman can positively tell a male from a female just by looking at it. What do you look for ? If you would, fill me in !!!
  3. Just something to think about, I was recently running a airboat in a nearby waterway just playing around in the marsh, I ran the airboat up in the cattails and parked it. After a few minutes of talking i noticed movement in the cattails " tree frogs" and I mean a lot of them, for some reason there were green tree frogs gathered on the stems of the plants , other than cover this could be a reason fish hold to this type of cover. It could also be a food source. JUST A THOUGHT ?
  4. I live on the lower Sabine river on the TX/LA border, we have good rainfall every year and the water is always stained. Over the years I have had good days on just about every bait in my box, I have had bad days on the same too, but the one that has NEVER let me down is the spinnerbait. I always seem to scratch out a limit or two even in stained water. Somedays I have to work for them other days I am in bass heaven. The jewels in my crown are my 3/8 ounce zorro spinnerbaits in either white, chartruse, or a combination of the both. On the river I prefer a tandem blade with some kind of pork frog or trailer and it always seems to save the day. I dont know if they even make a zorro anymore but I am sure any of them will work the same. HOPE THIS HELPS !!!
  5. I would think this would almost be a certanty. It just makes sense the distance between the mouth opening and the eye is absolutely closer together on smaller fish. If you happen to be on smaller fish I am sure u could decrease those chances by using a hook with a smaller gap. Give it a shot and see if you notice a difference.
  6. I cant believe this is turned into a physics class, but since were on the subject by definition gravitational pull is the attraction one object has for another object due to the invisible force of gravity. The MASS of an object affects its gravitational pull. So yes a 10 lb bass does have a greater pull than a 1lb bass and has a greater chance of injury if held by one hand. So from now on two hands on the big ones !!!
  7. I really just want some opinions. I fish a 60 acre private lake that, use to be a old sand pit some 20 plus years ago, since then it has been stocked and is loaded with bass. The lake has every type of structure you could imagine. The lake is absolutely stacked with heavy timber in the deepest part of the lake, I am talking 20 plus feet of standing timber. The fishing is so good just along the bank that no one ever ventures into the timber, it is virgin territory and never gets fished. Once the spawn is over and everything heats up I know this place is probably a treasure trove of fish. Taking into cosideration the water is absolutely crystal clear I just wanted a few opinions on how to fish the timber and what to start with. Not so much baits but maybe different techniques. Any info would be greatly appreciated !!!
  8. I thought I had a story but you guy's left me speechless. Great story's and definately brightened up my day !!! Thanks
  9. Its not always the exception but I love throwing big baits for big bass. I am not a big jig fisherman but they have produced some of my biggest bass ever. I am also in agreement with throwing big worms, I mean 10 and 12 inchers, they have really produced for me. Then there is always the tried and true spinnerbait, my largest bass ever, came from a stocked pond on a single colorado blade zorro spinnerbait with a uncle josh JUMBO pork frog, the bait and frog is as long as my hand. My advice, go big, fish slow and see what happens. The good news is ,if it doesn't work you have PLENTY of experienced fisherman on this site to make it happen. GOOD LUCK !!!!
  10. I assure you bigtime it will work ! There were tons of bass caught on the infamous 11 inch ring rascal on t-bend and the only difference is the rings. I saw a previous post were a bass consumed a snake with no problem. I can see that big ol worm crawling up the sawdust hump by fin and feather one night and KA BLAM !!! FISH ON
  11. The fact that the bass still hit the bait with the snake in its mouth is not suprising. A bass has a very slow digestive system, believe it or not very similar to a wolverine. It will often gorge itself in an attempt to satisfy its hunger. How many times have we cleaned a bass and seen several perch, artificial lures or some other prey in its stomach all at the same time. Bass by design are simply eating machines and thats why we love to catch them !
  12. Congratulations !!! u have just joined the club with another million fisherman. Dont be down , it will happen again anytime you fish light line , your just that much wiser .
  13. For me fishing t-bend in the day time is sacreligious, but believe me fellows I will be there. Good luck to all of you !!
  14. Thats what night fishing is all about, PEACE AND QUIET ! just the sounds of the lake. VOTED NO !!!
  15. Hi ! Iam the new guy from texas, I have been fishing since I was old enough to hold a fishing pole. I am a hard core night time fisherman on Toledo bend but would like to try to see the sun on a trip or two. I have spent all of my fishing hours at night and will need some help from all of you daytime fishermen. Any info I receive would be greatly appreciated and would be happy to do the same for anyone thinking of trying a little night fishing. I think this is a excellent site and look forward to speaking with all of you !!! :
