I fished the alley today. Caught a lot of smaller sized fish and after a while tried some bigger baits to cut out the dink bite. Had a blast.

Anyone fishing the Gambler tourney? I went up yesterday and struggled near Belle Glade. I think the FLW put a whoopin on them south end fish....

Also since it's towards the end of feb, bring some hollow body frogs...

I fished them flats until my trolling motor bought it. Could get any big bites. The few I did, they weren't committed and I missed. Rough day....

That's about the sentiment with the everglades right now... Hopefully it will turn on soon.

Sounds fun. Just be careful using the bluegill as bait . I can't be 100% certain, but I think it's considered illegal to use them as bait . Someone else on here may know for sure

The water is still up for another month or so (hopefully only a month). Fish can be found in the flats but I went out there about 2 weeks ago and it was tough sledding so I hit the Miami canal. Caught a decent number of dinks on top water but nothing to write home about. Let us know how you do..

The side arm casting vs overhead advice I'm not sold on.... I do believe that a straight upward hook-set is imperative especially when you fish water with grass and cover. You gotta get that up moving upwards rather that further into the slop....

I missed my first kotg on years I was out of town. By the weights looks like I didn't miss too much. Is next months also at the lake?
