Mods, forgive me if this isn't the right section. What single purchase (fishing equip, not a boat) changed the way you fished forever? It can be a type of line, lure, reel, rod, anything as long as it's tackle related. I would have to say mine would be braided line or Rage Tail products. Braid showed me that you actually CAN set the hook from 45 yards away, and land the fish. As for the Rage Tails, yeah. They just catch fish.

For winter, cold water fishing: Realtree thermal shirt, flannel shirt, Carhartt jacket (which is THE best article of clothing I have ever owned), Levi's, wool socks, and Wolverine boots. Warm water: Depends. Sometimes I will wear a Colombia fishing shirt, which are awesome, light shorts and Merrel hiking boots, and sometimes just a tee and basketball shorts.

Hookingem and myself fish a lot of ponds from the bank. The fish we are catching now are scattered along deepwater (for a pond, more like 3-5 feet) structure such as dropoffs and ledges. If you can find rockpiles, weeds, etc., you will catch fish.

I would take an 8 pounder any day. My PB is an ounce away from 9, RIGHT after the spawn. It was either 25 or 26 inches, can't remember for sure. I know she probably would have been pushing 9 1/2 a few weeks earlier, but man an 8 is a tank. It will make you appreciate why we fish. I've caught a 10 but it was on a live gill, therefore I don't count it as my PB. Now.....you wanna talk about NADENE...
