  1. Torqueedo is also $1800! It's only 15lbs light, but I don't think it lasts very long compared to a standard trolling motor + battery. Here are two quick ideas to using a trolling motor, one using a crate the other using 2 flushmount rod holders. The best place for the motor is the rear but it should work well enough off to the side.
  2. I've used the Gammy EWG for years just fine although, I probably get better hooksets with a traditional worm hook shape. My new favorite hook for every plastic is the Owner Twistlock. The bait never slides down the shank and they do not tear up as much so I can catch a few more fish on each plastic. Super sharp and hooksets are great. They have a couple different styles, an EWG almost and their Flippin hook is like a traditional worm hook.
  3. Leatherman Juice S2. A compact multi tool with pliers and a big scissor. The sheath carries it 2 ways.
  4. shimano crucial dropshot
  5. Poor snakeheads, I enjoy catching them they are a great sport fish. Have not eaten one yet but I hear they are tasty...then again it is the dirty Potomac River.
  6. +1 for just covering up head to toe. Just started wearing underarmor longsleeve shirt, buff, hat, gloves when I am in the kayak. I actually feel cooler since the sun isn't on my skin and you can pour water on the UA or buff to keep to feel extra cold.
  7. Really nice job. What were you catching 'em on?
  8. have you thought about a kayak instead?
  9. I don't get it either, maybe a picture woule help. You said he took off the blade, but then stated the added "flash" helped the bass strike!?
  10. I will be making my own stakeout pole here shortly. 8ft. 3/4" fiberglass tree stake from A.M. Leonard or Amazon (~$15 shipped), sharpen one end and add a pvc t-handle on the top. I believe the fiberglass blanks are roughly the same as the popular, more expensive stakeout poles. super cheap options also include wooden broom handle, old ski pole, golf clubs, etc.
  11. I am confused, why did you make another thread?
  12. The new Mustang MIT 100 looks awesome, very compact and not bulky when inflated. I'm in a kayak though and will probably go the traditional foam route, but the MIT 100 sounds nice for Summer time.
  13. Yes. Although the Crucial's are much nicer if you can afford it.
  14. Another vote for Sahara and President, I have both and I love em! I've never thought about spending more $$ on a spinning reel, they work and feel great.
  15. if you find a spot, come back and let me know!
  16. I've got a Sahara 2500 that I've had for 2-3 years now and it's been great. Just got a President size 30 and it's been great as well the past month. Get whatever you like, both are great reels, the differences are minimal. Shimano's got that little service port that you can drop oil into, the President you have deal with a few screws. The President's spool is also "braid ready"
  17. Me too! a rooster tail will always get me a fish (or 4) if i'm feeling a skunk. If just aiming for bass however, a wacky worm and some patience will do.
  18. Dicks sporting goods has a decent combo for sale, Abu Garcia Cardinal/ Vengeance rod for $80, plus there is a $20 rebate attached to the rod, so $60 total. You can probably find a $10 off $50 coupon on the internet somewhere to bring the total down to $50.
  19. Nice. Looks like the little ponds I fished in as a kid
  20. i'd be careful of deez nuts
  21. catfish/snapping turtle
