  1. I picked up the same rod. I just wanted to try something different from my Falcons. I haven't gotten the chance to use it yet, but plan on putting it to use in two weeks. Let us know how you like it.
  2. For all of you that change your hooks, how do you know what size the hooks are? I've never changed treble hooks but have a few lures that I need to do so with, I just have no idea what size hooks to get
  3. I would take a look at the falcon bucoo. Good rods right at $100 or they've now got bucoo's with microguides for $30 more.
  4. I've got a Lowrider UL. Great rod for the money IMO.
  5. How many of you change the treble hooks on your crankbaits right out of the package? I got the chance to listen to Rick Clunn Sunday and he said he that he always changes the trebles on his 1.5 or 2.5, not sure which one he was referring to, from size 1 to size 1/0. I've heard about people changing their trebles and didn't know if this was something very important to due or not. Just want to hear your opinions! Thanks, Okie
  6. x2 Fish with RH reels and have the rod in my left hand on both cast and retrieve.
  7. I was planning on making an order here soon. Perfect timing on the sale. Looking forward to trying out some northstar baits!
  8. Looks great. I am going to do some swimbait fishing this year but don't know anything about this technique though. Do you usually fish swimbaits in open water?
  9. Got the chance to meet Rick Clunn today. He was a good guy, and very informative on fishing square bills.
  10. Tommy Biffle was at the BPS in Oklahoma City yesterday and tomorrow Rick Clunn will be there. Biffle was a class act, and I am looking forward to hearing from and hopefully meeting Rick Clunn.
  11. My vote is for the Falcon. I have a Cara CCB-4-17MR Medium Cranker for shallow-medium cranks and love it
  12. It always shows up on the forum list whenever I am on the homepage. Started noticing it a few weeks ago
  13. I love the falcon line of rods. That being said I have talked to falcon and from the sound of it all of the bucoos have more of a moderate action, I would check out the veritas.
  14. Yeah, I saw those at Cabelas. They look and feel nice. No info on Falcons web site about them though. Later, I went up to there store and talked to them the other day. The only difference between this rod and a cara are the grips and the reel seat. It is the exact same blank as cara t7
  15. I just picked up a falcon cara clark wendlandt spinning rod to go with my ci4. I haven't used the specific rod but have a few caras and they are a great rod. It's a great looking combo too. http://cabelas.com/cabelas/en/templates/product/standard-item.jsp?_DARGS=/cabelas/en/common/catalog/item-link.jsp_A&_DAV=MainCatcat20166-cat20374&id=0082770125647a&navCount=1&podId=0082770&parentId=cat20374&masterpathid=&navAction=push&catalogCode=XA&rid=&parentType=index&indexId=cat601233&hasJS=true
  16. If there is still a spot, I'm in.
  17. Any Shimano reel would be good, although if your using it for bass I would go with a 2500 size, not the smaller size
  18. That first guy needs to learn how to spell.
  19. I prefer Owners. Gamakatsu comes in a close second though.
  20. Happy birthday! I had my 21st yesterday. Man was it a good one
  21. I would check out the falcon cara weightless worm micro guide rod. I haven't used the micro guides yet, but the cara's are great sub $200 rods
  22. Has anybody tried these out yet? I went and bought a pack. (gotta support the local man) I've had good success with them. Haven't caught quite the number I do on senkos but the quality of the fish are much better. Just went to the pond and in a ten minute period caught 3 fish with the smallest being probably about 2 pounds and the biggest being about 3.5 pounds. I don't think I've caught any in the pond with the senko over 2 pounds this summer, but have had multiple fish over 2 pounds with the biffle bug.
  23. http://skeetreeseinc.com/Icast2010.html I'm not impressed by the look the reel, although it would look a lot better without the design on the side. I guess we'll just have to see how it performs.
