  1. I don't really know much about the daiwa pixy. What is a good price for one and what would it take to make it a pixzilla? Also, between the pixy and the shimano core, which would be better for fishing weightless plastics and maybe some texas rigged as well.
  2. I am wanting to get a 2 piece rod to keep in the truck and looking at getting the damiki ex spinning rod but wanted to see if anyone has tried one at yet? Any opinions are greatly appreciated. Thanks
  3. congrats on the awesome find
  4. I have been using seaguar invisx. I haven't had any problems with it.
  5. What are some of the better cranking rods in your opinion? I am looking to get a falcon cara CCB-4-17MR, the reactoin medium cranker. I can get this for $95, Do you think there is anything better out there for the price?
  6. Falcon's are the only ones that I have used but I have three Cara's and a lowrider UL my dad and brother both have originals. IMO I wouldn't go with anything else, but they are also made about 5 miles away from me so that makes it a lot easier for me to get a hold of one
  7. The citica is $120. Unless you know something I dont?
  8. I didnt get to put a reel on it. I would not go with the heavy action one it almost felt more like a mh, but they mh felt true to action. it was weird. I liked it a lot. If they had the rod for the purpose I need I would have gotten a bucoo for sure but I needed one for flippin and pitchin that I also wanted to use for striper so I went with a cara
  9. went and looked at the bucoo. was kinda confused on your question once I got there. If you are holding the rod asif you were palming your reel your palm does not touch the blank but it has the exposed reel seat so your fingers do. If you are holding the rod at the grip your palm does come in contact with the blank below the grip. I hope that helps. If you have any other questions I might be able to help
  10. I have three cara's. Just bought the third today though so havent gottn to try it out. I love the other two. I am in the same boat as you getting them for $100 and for that price there is nothing better IMO
  11. Im not sure about the palm thing on the bucoo, but falcon rods are actually made in broken arrow, OK. Which is convenient because they are located just a few miles from me. I am going into the store in a minute and I will check them out an hopefully be able to answer your queston
  12. I personally love falcon rods, I have two cara t7's and a lowrider. Going to be a bucoo today actually
  13. my brother has a sedona 2500 and he loves it. Seems to be something I would recommend
  14. If possible I think I'm going to get a H action falcon, probably bucoo so I can use it as a flipp and pitching rod to. The only reason I'm doing this is because I can get them really cheap. for the reel, would you go with a lower gear ratio, for flipping and pitching/striper? what other applications are H action rods geared towards?
  15. Sorry guys I do not know if I should be posting this in this section, but I am going Striper fishing in a few weeks, Ive been twice before but with a guide, were going without one to beaverlake this time to try out the new boat. My question is what would you guys suggest to use? What action rod? gear ratio reel? #test. Thanks, Okie
  16. I am having the same problem, just bought an 85 ranger 340v and want to add that extended casting deck, dont have the seat on the left side like you do but instead a rod locker
  17. Honestly, nothing, other than the fact that most stuff isnt stocked in the store in that long, just about 6 months and if the store doesnt stock it they dont take the return
  18. Zara, I dont know if you have returned your rods yet, but I work at academy and can tell you that you can take both rods back without a receipt as long as you have your ID on you and either get store credit and exchange them with no problem at all.
  19. well from what you guys are saying I think I will probably go with the curado. What ratio would be the easiest to cast with?
  20. hey guys I am looking to get into baitcasting and was wondering what reel you guys think is the easiest casting one out there under $200
  21. I would probably stay away from the academy house brand, I work there, not in the hunting and fishing department but those guys talk down on the h20 xpress reels alot
  22. Well I might actually return it, the chronarch is going to go on sale for a price I cant refuse, how much better is the chronarch than the curado? Thanks
