  1. So, I'm loosing distance by only having 75%?
  2. What are the advantages of filling the spool full? Does it mean better casting or what? I have mine filled to about 75%. I understand that if I fill it full, there will be less spool RPM's and more mass. What would it change if I put 50% on it??? What offers the best control or does it matter? Scott.
  3. I didn't "qualify" on the last one because of post count. I think there are better ways of doing it. I could get on here and reply every time a post comes up, just to get my count up, but that's not me. My word is my oath to do what I say I'm gonna do. If I tell you I'm gonna do something, then it will be done. I know all people aren't like this and it makes it tough on the honest ones. Another way would be to have a cap of $10 and only send 1 item. If someone didn't uphold their part, make note of it. Then, you'd only be out $10. If that was successful, then you could do another one with more items and send it to the reputable people that was on first list. Scott. ps, Got me another post!!!
  4. I have a slim dog in bleeding tenn shad. I couldn't be more pleased with the action. Very nice quality in my opinion. Scott.
  5. If this goes as well as I think it's gonna go then this won't be the last for sure! FYI, I've got 10 people so the polls are closed as it were. I'll be sending out reply pm's tomorrow to the folks who made it and i'll post the names here. Once the next paycheck rolls around i'll start this thing up. At that time I'll post the rules and the order of the shippers. If you'd rather not have your name and address posted here so that the next guy knows who to ship to (which is the custom) then let me know so that I can come up with something different. Also be thinking of something creative to do with this pass! Like decals of your favorite baits or patches or whatever. Something to commemorate I guess. Have a good night or morning depending! I think what would be cool is to include a pic of yourself and maybe a pic of your favorite fishing spot. Scott.
  6. I use a "Scott knot". This is a cinch knot, but, I loop the line through th eye 4 or 5 times and the finish with the cinch knot. This spreads the load over more loops rather than one. It also stops the knot from slipping which is more important with the braided lines. Scott.
  7. Freakin A! I ain't even a junior and I got myself all pumped. Oh well.... Maybe next time I'll have enough posts. Scott
  8. ??? This is an easy question: - you get the braid/fusion benefits: - no stretch; greater sensitivity and power - no memory - and still give the fish a sporting chance I have several of my baitcasters set up with 8-10lbs of braid. Like why would you bow hunt if you could use a rifle? I'm not sure this is a good analogy. Your points about the braid are the reasons to use it. But, to use a lower test, I don't agree. I don't want my line breaking and having a fish swimming around with a lure in its face. If I hook it, I want it to come to me, not break off half way there. Scott
  9. Wal Mart has these hand held fishing games for like $10. You can choose different lakes and move around on each one. Several guys where I used to work had them and each night we'd have a tournament. Those were good times. Scott.
  10. I found this in a creek near Gatlinburg. When you pull the cable, the clear bottom opens, exposing a barbless hook. It's about 3 inches long with Spin Master and "fogo" on it. I've searched and didn't find anything. What is it??? Scott.
  11. I always heard that acidity of the fish's mouth would help the hook to rust away faster than normal. Kinda makes sense to me. Scott.
  12. I'm getting mad. I still haven't had any luck with these. Scott.
  13. Stainless has got to be the worst. We work with alot of it here. Scott
  14. Thanks for the help. I was under the impression that they would float. Besides, the cotton mouths ran me off last night. They are there for the frogs also. Tonight, the .410 says it's MY pond. Thanks, Scott.
  15. I have some rage toads and I'm rigging them on Gamakatsu EWG Monster NSB 5/0 hooks. Aren't these supposed to float? They recommend a 4/0-6/0 wide gap. I thought I'd hit the middle with the 5/0 but I think I'm way past left field. Can y'all help? Thanks, Scott.
  16. I was also looking at the Ambassadeurs. How would the 4600C4 be? I'd like to have one of these for the heavy duty work. Would this be suitable?I've always been partial to the looks of these reels. Thanks, Scott.
  17. I like the looks of the Penn offshore stuff. But, being a machinist, the machined aluminum is a work of art. If I had the money, I'd buy one just to look at. Scott.
  18. I have 2 active and the spool a little tighter. Think this may be the problem? Scott.
  19. OK, I got the Citica and a Mojo Bass. I spent a little more that I had wanted, but, this seems like a heck of a steup. I still haven't figured out the adjustments yet, I am used to the magnetic spool control. I've lashed it a few times but nothing too bad. When I have it to where it won't nest at the end of the cast, my distance isn't good. Oh well, I'll get it worked out. Thanks for all of your help, now, will somebody take me fishin? Scott.
  20. What is a bass' memory like? I was told that after a couple of hours, they'd forget what they were caught on. I know the ones in my pond (about half an acre) have quit biting anything that ain't alive. I'm just wondering if they remember for quiet a while. Scott.
  21. I have a mixture of them, from deep to shallow and lip less. What would be a good all around action? Thanks for your help, I really appreciate it, Scott.
  22. I'm looking for a MOJO but I'm not sure which one. I fish cranks and plastic worms mainly. Which would you recommend? This will be used with a new Citica. Can you help? Thanks, Scott.
  23. What about the Daiwa TD Pro and a MOJO rod? The price will make me happier. Scott.
  24. Yeah, there is plenty of eye candy here. It's hard to imagine but, you get used to it. Now, every once in a while, there will be one that you just stare at. As for the sports, don't get me started. If they were playing in my front yard, I wouldn't even look out the window. I've never been much on team sports. Thanks for all of the "Welcomes". Scott.
