  1. btw franco..what color did ya grab that nice fishy on? and howd you have it rigged? the few times ive used them was t-rigged flipping,i think i might try them on a jig or one of them spinner heads or my new scrounger heads
  2. yea i know im just giving him a hard time
  3. franco are you being sarcastic? lol... common there almost the same bait cept the tails...have you ever thought of cutn the tail off the gambler and melt it back the other way, then youll have your megadog
  4. x4 on bps combo..but wait for a sale...should be some coming up for labor day
  5. i noticed the other week or so that you are really interested in the new megastrike megadog lure, and i noticed you said you have tried jdm plastic versions of it but that they are to small..welps,i came across these in my garage the other day i used them a few times but not enough but have you given these a shot? http://www.basspro.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/Product_10151_-1_10001_66194____SearchResults they are 4" and have a big profile i used them for flipping a few times and they hit it but now that i dug them out i think i shall put them to the test this weekend.hope this helps ya till those megastrikes come out.only difference is the tails on each (vertical/horizontal) ..the baitmonkey is watching!!!
  6. you gotta be kidding...a sub $40 cheap rod better then a croix or shimano rod....uhhh aint gonna happen.what croixs are you fishing that a low-end rod is better than? lets see a nice croix legend ($200 and up) or a $40 berkley? aint rocket science. : : : : but my vote is for a housebrand rod if your looking to save money.
  7. 2/0 or 3/0????? w-t-f lol,youd never get a hookset.i dont think i even use a 3/0 on my 7" worms .i use a 5/0 texposed and i will sometimes use a 6/0 nose hooked...love big worms,culprit 12" and bps 13" are my go to now that the summer heat is on.
  8. imo fireline isnt what it used to be..i hate that stuff now nothing but problems and money down the tubes.
  9. the best...WHITE,white and black (i beleive its called phantom),ive had great luck with the baby duck, and then the natural and yellow/white one.
  10. i love daiwa but after reading bout it and seeing more of it..id rather buy a quantum
  11. eh so-so..some of it looks kinda cheap plastic and junky, whats up with that retarded handle on the bc?..to bad we cant read korean...ill stick with jdm until there is a good american site intended for kdm stuff (like japantackle.com).the rods with the carbon fiber/graphite seats kinda reminds me of dobyns.
  12. x2..i remeber when his batch of rods came out that did nothing but brake and fall apart in your hands.he fixed his companies problem and now dobyns are some of the greatest rods out there.no matter what or who i still like my c.stixs..nuff said
  13. that poll should be burned..you forgot the 3 most important colors....WHITE,JUNE BUG and GREEN PUMPKIN!!!!!
  14. islandbass- you forgot about the (drumroll) BANJO MINNOW!!!!!!
  15. the citicas and curados are made hand n hand, they both roll off the same assembly line to say, only big difference is curado has bearings in the handle and 1 extra bearing other then that they are pretty much like twins(same frames,gears).non-identical
  16. plus its fun to tinker and make up your own baits by melting parts together...the birth of your very own creature baits.
  17. havent used that specific one, there are many styles and brands of these.but yea they work...a good pair of forceps works great to,and those could be had for free if you know some one in the medical field or a paramedic/firefighter.
  18. i had a castaic for a short while i dunno to me i just hated that reel,it was like a redheaded basstard stepchild to me ;D ... didnt fit well for me or my style of fishing and it seems to cheap and plasticy for the price..now the curado and citica.....pure perfection!!!!
  19. love the bait, will still use it no matter but unfortunately for me they dont last very long and they get tore up easy for me and my style of fishing.easily go through a pack during a day on the lake, but like i said..WORTH it if it produces, and they produce!!!
  20. lmao, you're kidding, right? Have you fished with a steez rod? I have the 7 mh and I can honestly say the mojo feels just like it except for the cork handle. except the steez is like 3oz lighter and way more sensitive 3 ounces? : and more sensitive for $300 : your comparing apples to oranges man...plus a lifetime warranty..ALL fuji components, the aluminum foregrip nut, waaaay more technology is in that steez then the mojo could think of,i to have both and blindfold me and i can tell the HUGE difference between the two thats like saying a corvette is the same, just as good or better then a Ferrari :
  21. yeah ...really looking forward to some quality time with it out on the water... was so impressed with how light and balanced it is. plus its a badarse lookn rod 8-) 8-) 8-) ;D
  22. if your tight on cash just keep what you got it will work fine for bass i have a few roundies that i use now n then for bass, but if anything if your def. set on getting a lp reel id look into the abu revos.cause they are comfy and easy to palm and can handle just about anything in the water, either the stx or the toro for hard fighting fish.
  23. congrats on that bucoo..i got one a few weeks back and LOVE it...now one of my fav. and go to set ups.
  24. I had not thought of upside down rigging. Another goody to try. Tell you what I have been doing lately. I've got several packages of the small *** flukes, three and a half or four inches long. I wacky rig a senko type worm, then nose hook the fluke. On the retrieve, it looks like the fluke is chasing the senko, even though the senko is larger. I've done the same, using a three inch senko type as the chaser, but the root beer colored *** fluke works better. thanks rhino gonna have to try this one,,i also just ordered me some of them scrounger heads (long bill) im gonna try some flukes on these.
